I was an untouched candle
And you were an accidental flame
And you got closer than I could handle
You burned hotter than you could retain
And with just one spark.. just a little too near
I was ignited.. and I burned so bright
The room no longer dark.. you made ashes of my fear
Because of your fire I invented light
As my wick singed down and down
My love for you eating me away
Until I was wax upon the ground
And you decided you couldn't stay
For I was a mess you just couldn't clean
And you were nothing but embers
A victim of your scorch.. but when you said you didn't love me... I didn't know what that could mean
When I knew you as a searing blaze.. a wasted candle was all you remembered
