Adjusting my cartier ring I watched as my son did his math homework. He looked up at me with doubt written all over his face.
"Ethan, come on. You can do this" I ruffled his hair up. "I don't know! I swear I can't" he whined as I placed my hand on his shoulder. "Yes you can. Now, eight times eight" I pointed to the column he was up to.
"I don't know" he placed his pencil down and crossed his arms "yes you do" I took the pencil in my hands then placing it in his. "You can do this" I watched as he took in a deep breath.
"Your dad was never good at maths baby" I kissed his forehead as I checked on Hannah, my youngest who had been playing with playdoh for the last two hours.
"Hannah, come we have homework to do" I kissed her cheek as she whined, throwing her playdoh down. "Also like your father, short tempered" I took her hand and sat her down beside Ethan.
"I don't want to do homework! I don't want to!" Hannah screamed as I huffed. What kind of life was I living? What kind of kids did I have? "Sweetheart, I have work okay? So please just sit" I held my blackberry in my hand.
"What's all the fuss about?" Justin stood at the huge wooden doors as Hannah immediately squealed and ran to Justin.
"What's wrong baby?" Justin picked her up, placing her on his hip and kissing her cheek. "I don't like homework" Hannah complained as Justin chuckled. "No can do princess, mama's orders" he stared briefly at me as I felt another buzz from my phone.
"I have work, can you manage them for about ten minutes? Let me just fix whatever bullshit is happening" I muttered the ending as Justin nodded as I made my way up to the office.
I hated him. I hated his face, his personality, the way that he damn smiled at me like he could have his way anytime. He frustrated me in every which way.
I was beginning to have enough.
He had assumed I was deaf and blind, but, he had this new intern, more like a protégé. Not to get into detail, but I knew they fucked like bunnies when I wasn't around.
He was my husband. Ten years I threw myself into this marriage. I was a CEO myself in the same company as him and we had graduated business school together, we planned to take over the business industry.
I had two kids. One boy, one girl. Yet, apparently it wasn't enough, if little Ms Alex could make my husbands head spin.
"Baby?" Justin stood by the door of office, once i had realised I had been having a tremendous tantrum. I had thrown papers all over the floor and scattered pens and pencils.
"What?" I muttered as he took a step forward. "What's going on? Have you been stressing yourself too much?" He kissed my cheek as I grimaced internally.
"Yeah, you know how work is." I whispered, suddenly feeling like the only way he was slipping from me was because, I was a failure.
"Kenny, I know you're frustrated with yourself, but you can't blame yourself for the miscarriage, it happens. We can try again" Justin held my hands in his as I pulled them away.
