Jane marched towards me in the school's hall and pulled me towards her, her sharp nails digging into my wrist, making me cry out in pain "What are you doing? Let go of me!"

Everyone in the hall stilled and stared at us, everything was extremely quiet but me on the other hand kept screaming and yelling at Jane, telling her to let go of me, she was humiliating both of us. My eyes scanning the crowd and connecting with Hope's shocked eyes. I wanted to rush out of the school but instead I pulled myself out of Jane's snake like grip.

"What the hell is your problem Jane? We've been best friends since kindergarten, what's going on? Instead of dragging me like some mad dog, you could have talked to me without causing the scene." Jane's eyes masked with anger but her face blank, pretending like nothing's happened.

"Leave Dylan alone, you witch." she spat out lowly, her eyes pitch black but she remained smiling so nobody can suspect we're arguing.

"In case you didn't know, Dylan is my boyfriend, not yours." her hold on my arm tightened, then I felt a painful sensation - she had broken my wrist.

"We'll see about that." she muttered threateningly then brushing past me while I stood in the middle of the hall with gaping students everywhere. I looked around searching for Hope and clutching my throbbing broken wrist, trying not to cry in front of everyone. I groaned under my breath, feeling someone's hand wrapping around my own.

"Let's get some help, your wrist seems like it's broken." I heard Hope's apologetic voice speaking next to me then ushering me down the hall. As we were passing through the crowd everyone was staring at us, except Jane, she stood still glaring at us but a smug smirk was on her face.

Nearing the nurse office we heard loud gasps then people started bowing, looking at something behind us. What was happening?

Furrowing my eyebrows at the commotion and looking over at equally confused Hope, we slowly turned around only to be met with a handsome, tall and well built guy I knew very well, except I didn't know what was he doing here. There, in front of me stood Alaric, his blazing eyes staring into my own eyes but as if he knew something happened, the warmth in them long gone.

Alaric's eyes snapped to my broken wrist, his handsome face turned into a deep scowl, his eyes becoming pitch black, his muscled body tensing before his arms started shaking slightly. Alaric's tall form moved towards me, people gasping and whispering, I heard a couple of them saying he's going to hurt me and punish me, but some said we're probably mates, whatever it meant, we were mere friends.

Alaric's eyes met mine once again then in a second he was standing in front of me, towering over my frame "Everyone go to your classes, the fun is over." his deep voice booming throughout the hall. I saw people leaving and bowing down again, as if they were showing him respect.

Why do people always bow down when Alaric appears?

"Who did that?" his voice nothing but powerful, dominant and demanding.

"What do you mean?" I played dumb even though I knew he saw my broken wrist, the part of me didn't want him to hurt Jane because she was my friend but after this, I don't think so.

"Don't annoy me, answer." an arm wrapping around my waist, bringing me closer to Alaric's warm chest. Glancing up at his angry face I didn't answer, only closed my eyes trying not to focus on the pain I was feeling in my arm. I heard him sighing then clasping my good arm in his much bigger one, taking me to the nurse office.
