Meeting face-to-face with Danielle was the hardest thing i could ever do after i had forgotton about her and she'll have to skip school another year for me.

I went to her house, and saw her curled up sleeing in her bed.

"Dani." i said, she instantly woke up. She sat up and studied me.

"Hey, Hav. What's wrong? Are you ok?"

She sat down next to her on her bed. "Well. I have to kiss Dean again today."

A smile spread across her face.

I tried to ignore her sudden facial expression when i bring up me and Dean. "Well, uhm, we kissed longer than we should have. He was uhm...Well, Jerry called cut and we were still kissing for a couple seconds. When i opened my eyes..." i laughed shakily, "Man, if you would have seen what i saw...it's still makes me smile."

Dani looked at me, her eyes happy. Actually happy. I havent seen her like this since the movie started. "I can see that." She smiled with a big blush.

It was then that i realized i was smiling in a lovestruck-kind-of-way.I instantly frowned, then looked at Dani. She shrugged. "Maybe he likes you." she said, stating the obvious.

"Now it's my turn, I CAN SEE THAT." i mocked her, using the same tone of voice she had used when she'd first said it to me. We both giggled, then i suddenly stood up. I had to say this. It was either now or never.

"Listen, Dani , i'm really sorry. You really dont have to go to Brooklyn with me." i say to her, bracing myself for her response.

Suddenly, grief filled her eyes, and a frown took hold of her face. "Yah, i know. But--it's just, i dont have a job. And i cant have you paying all my bills and feeding me on a daily basis. I need a job. Bad."

"maybe i could ask Jerry if you could be in the movie?'

"Hav, you know i cant act."

'Yes, but you can sing. And you cant deny that."

She started laughing, and got up. "You never give up, do you?"

I laughed with her. 'that's my name. Haven Never-Give-Up Maria Jade." i smiled, and helped her up. Her laugh was always a cure.

For me, anyways.

"Really? And what's mine?"

"Danielle Is-Annoying Nicole hutchinson."

She hugged me, and i hugged her back. I know she really wanted to go to college, but now we can work together, on the same set, with NO school. How great would that be? And, she would maybe get to sing, like, background for the movie.

"Will you stay with me all night?" she asked, finally letting go.

I laughed. 'Of Course, what kind of person do you think i am?"

Dani paused for a split second.

"Haven Never-Give-Up Maria Jade, is who i think you are."

We both laughed.

Hard.

We couldnt breath.

And the thing was, it wasnt even that funny.

Because that's what best friends do. They laugh at stuff that isnt funny and act as if someone had just put a tickling machine on us.

Later that night, we ordered pizz. Finally, the pizza guy showed up.

We both took a slice from the box, and started sharing stories from when we were little.

Danielle was in the middle of her story about how her brother push her in front of a car in the when they were in a fight, when i got a text from Roxanne.

*meeting ASAP.* it said.

i texted back *tomorrow*

*No now*

I looked up at Danielle.

"Yh, the car went RIGHT over me. You should've seen how much troub he was in." She was laughing, then she took another bite of her pizza. "Your turn--wait, are you ok?" she asked.

Shit, am i that transparent?

I nodded. "It's uhm, i just got a text, and--"

"Is it from Dean?"

"No."

"who's it from?"

"Roxanne."

Danielle's amber eyes rolled around her eye sockets. "Ugh, i hate her. She doesnt like me, did you notice? I havent even done anything to her!"

I nodded. "Well, uhm, apparently, i have to attend a meeting right now."

she looked at me. Then she looked down. After a long pause, she looked up and said, "You dont have to stay here if you dont want to." Her eyes suddenly showed no emotion, and hr smile turned to a frown.

Her words were lies, i could tell. Her orangey-borwn eyes looked down at the pizza, and she picked a peporonni off and ate it slowly, obviously i have ruined the night once again by my stupid job. I looked at her, but she didnt look up.

I felt so bad. "Dani--" i got up to comfort her, but she shooed me away. I walked to the door, then looked back. She slowly took another bite. "I'll be back right after. I promise." i told her, i stared at her as i opened the door.

'yah," she said, 'You promised last time."

I stared at her, then at the ground.

Guilt raced threw me like lightning, immidiantly bumming me down even more. How was i going to do my job and be Dani's best friend, if i always end up hurting her emotionally? Why does a movie take so much work?

I sighed, and let a single tear fall to the carpet in which i was looking at.

It's amazing how we can go from the happiest girls on Earth to so depressed we dont know what to do with our lives in one night.

"I'm sorry, Dani." i murmured.
