My name is Jackson Pierre. And I'm a lone wolf. Literally. Some people call us rouges, but rouges are crazy. I don't mean crazy like the Mad Hatter, I mean that they are mentally deranged. Rouges become brutal murders. They kill for fun. Legend has it that rouges loose their sanity when they are kicked out or leave their pack. Their wolves get so angry at them that they stop talking to their host . I've heard that it's unbearable.
I'm not crazy.
I look like your average girl. I listen to everyday music and once and a while I will drive an everyday car. But I'm not just an average girl. I am the Werewolf Princess.
I never stay in one city for to long. One week, give or take. I'm always on the run. Mostly because my mother and father are after me. I left because the whole pack abused, violated, and broke me. They didn't love me. They DON'T love me. I tried so hard to make them proud of me. Nothing ever worked.
I've been in search of a pack for three years and counting. But no one will take me in. So, I've given up hope, for now I roam on uncharted land until I find a decent town. I've been all over the globe.
At the moment I am taking refuge in a small town in California. I've been here for about two days and I have an odd feeling about this place. Something is making me want to stay. So, I got a job at the cafe down the road from the hotel I am staying at. I'm only nine-teen, so I've decided to hang out on the down low. I don't want to cause a big commotion tat will cause my parents to find me. I'm too young to die.
I'm on the Crystal Moon pack's land, yet they don't know I am here yet. I've learned to mask my scent. Let's just hope I don't work with any major werewolfs.
I step into the coffee shop and burst of baked bagel air wafts over to me. A preppy little girl calls me over by my last name. "Pierre. It's okay if I call you that, yeah? Anyways, this is going to be one of your co-workers, Xavier." She turns to the boy, "This is Jackson. She will be working the till for now on."
We both nod, not even giving each other a glance. I grab the preppy chicks arm as she begins to walk away, "And what is your name?"
She stares at me for a second before she smiles, "Oh. I totally forgot. My name is Mandy. Mandy Fretterman." I smile and let go of her arm.
"Nice to meet you... Mandy."
Mandy nods with a slight smile and walks into the back office. That's when Xavier speaks up, "You're a rouge. You don't belong here without Alpha Aden's permission"
"I prefer 'lone wolf.'" I state pointedly, "Anyways, I was going to talk to him after work."
Xavier scoffs. "Right, I bet. Well, you don't have to wait. Here he comes for his morning coffee." He nods his head towards the door. When I look, I expect a man in his late 60's but instead I see a guy in his early 20's. My heart soars and my stomach does flips.
The alpha has a girl hooked around his arm, and a pang of jealousy flares up in the pit of my stomach. She is beautiful with her red fiery red hair and happy green eyes. The alpha looks the opposite of happy.
He has a stone cold face with a tight jaw. Pink, plump lips that are placed in a permanent scowl. His light brown hair was tousled in a "I just had sex" kinda way. And his eyes... dark chocolate brown eyes that held hate and anger with every glance. And ten they flickered to mine.
MATE
My wolf howls on the inside. But my face stays blank. The Alpha is my mate? For a moment, I thought I saw a slight smile on his perfect, full lips. Almost a smirk. Xavier puts a hand on the small of my back and guides me towards the alpha. Well, he's in a hurry to get me kicked off of their land. "Alpha." Xavier dips his head at the man standing in front of us. His hand still on the small of my back.
