A few moments after I get back to the counter, Aden walks up to the counter. I sit at the register, with a book in my hands. He coughs trying to get my attention. I just pretend that I hadn't heard him. "Excuse me?"

I sigh and look up into Aden glorious brown eyes and its like I'm lost in a sea of emotion. I gulp, "Yes? Can I get you anything?"

"I'd like to speak with you in private, if thats okay?"

I nod slowly. This is my chance to do what Annie told me to do. " Okay. Meet me at my hotel room at Seven o'clock. My room number is 2108. I'll leave the outside light on."

"Okay." He nods, shoves his hands in his pockets and walks out the door.

A few hours pass and I begin to pack up. Xavier stops me as I begin to walk out the door. "Jackson? Can I talk to you for a moment?"

I groan but nevertheless turn around and meet Xavier's gaze. "Yes, Xavier? What do you want?"

"You know how you said that you are Alpha Aden's mate? Does that mean you'll be my Luna?" A worried look crosses his face and that confuses me.

"Yes... It does. But I doubt that Aden will ever take me, so you don't have to worry about it. I'll be leaving this town soon anyways."

"Please give Aden a chance." Xavier pleads.

I look at him with a confused expression, "Why should I listen to you?"

"Aden... he's my brother. I don't know how else to put it other than, he needs you. Ever since our parents died, he hasn't been the same. He used to be an outgoing funny and down right cool guy but now he is reserved and doesn't give a shit about anyone or anything -Pardon my french-."

"Okay. Well I'm meeting with him at my place at seven so I better get going. I'll give him a chance. Just cause I like you." I smile at Xavier and walk out the door. Slowly making my way to my hotel, the dark streets in my wake. I suck in crisp winter air through my teeth. A black car pulls up beside me and slowly follows me . I pick up my pace.

The car fallows me all the way to the end of the block before the mystery person rolls down their window. It's Aden. "Can I give you a ride?"

"Nope. I think I have legs for a reason." I reply back gravely.

"Com'mon, you're hotel is still about six blocks from here." Aden all but begs.

I stop walking and his vehicle stops on the side of the road. Sighing, I open the door and sit in the surprisingly comfortable leather seat. I set my purse on the floor by my feet and lean back. Aden opens his mouth to start talking and I hold up one hand, "Not right now. Wait till we get to the hotel. I've had to talk to people all day."

Aden growls. "Do not and I mean Do not tell me when and when not to talk. I was going to ask what room number you are, because I don't remember what you told me this morning." I look away from his godly formed face and to the scene ahead of me. I tell him tho drive around back and that I am room number 2108. He does as I say.

"Oh my word. Did you teleport us or something?" For we were there in a flash. From as long as I've known him, which happens to be about two days, this was the first full smirk I've seen.

"Ha. Very funny."

I smile and open the door. Walking to my hotel room, Aden hot on my tail. I unlock the door with my key card and step in. Aden looks around as he steps in behind me. He nods his head in approval at my simple hotel room. I sit on the bed and begin taking my shoes off by uniting the strings. "So, what did you want to talk about?"

He takes a seat on the couch and sits in a professional manner. " I wanted to make a proposition..." I crane my neck outward, as if to tell him to continue to speak. "The proposition is.. you become the Luna but we don't act like mates. It's strictly business. No kissing, hugging or hand holding in private. But when we are in public, we may only do what would seem to please the pack or other Alpha's and their packs."

I don't take even one second to respond. "No."

He narrows his eyes and leans forward so his elbows are on his knees. "Why not?"

"If I'm going to be someones mate, I want the whole package. I want everything. Even the love, although I may not deserve it, I still want it. If that is not what you want then you can leave now or just reject me and I can hope for a second chance mate."

He growls when I say 'second chance mate'. " I am not going to reject you. You are not leaving me. I am your only mate, whether you like it or not. It was your fault for finding your way on to my land. So now you have to deal with the consequences."

"You're proposition," I sneer "I will not deal with. If that is absolutely what you want and you will budge, but yet you will not reject me... then I'll just have to reject you."

In two seconds flat, I am laying on the bed and Aden is straddling my waist with a hand over my mouth. If glares could kill, I'd be six feet under. "You will not reject me. Ever."

I scowl under his hand and flick my tongue out to lick it. He growls. "You are so childish. How are you my mate?"

I glare at him for he still has not taken his hand away from my mouth. He sighs and lifts his hand and crawls off my lap and sits next to me, as I am still laying on the bed. I miss the feeling of his body on mine, oh the things I'd do to him if he had stayed there for two more seconds. I sit up slowly.

"If you don't want a screwed up, childish mate then just reject me." I whisper slightly to my self but more so to him.

He drops his head into his hands and sighs. He begins to speak but then stops himself. "What's your name?"

I throw my hands up in a field goal fashion. "You don't even know my name and you plan on living the rest of your life with me?"

"I never said I wanted to live with you for the rest of my life." He explains. My chest tightens. He doesn't want to be with me. I throw my hands up in the air again.

"Do you want me to give you a chance or not? First you tell me to not reject you and now you are saying that you don't want to spend the rest of your life with me. What are mates to you then? You just meet and then never see each other again?"

Aden shouts in an aggravated sort. "No! That is not what I meant." His demeanor visibly calms, "Now please. Just tell me your name."

I drop my defensive hold and lay back down on the bed. "My name is Jackson Pierre. And I'm from a pack in North Dakota. I ran away because my parents would hurt me and they made me live in a closet. That was around three years ago. I haven't lived in a pack since. My brother was the only person I was close to, until he was killed in a battle between another pack. I don't know who the other pack was but I'm trying to find out. I've got multiple leads but nothing I can depend on. I came to your land about four days ago and I still haven't made up my mind on when I'm going to leave. But it'll be soon so I can get out of your hair."

Aden's whole facade of being cold hearted drops. He lays down next to me and runs his fingers through my hair. I roll onto my side so that he is spooning me from the back, he massages my head and I purr in delight. Soon enough I find my eye lids growing heavy and I'm left with a dreamless slumber.
