1. Too Bad He Plays For The Other Team.
When I first met him, he was just a shy, little boy with mahogany hair and wide, ocean blue eyes. He peeked through his mother's legs as she introduced herself as our new next door neighbor.
I had interrupted the kind woman by loudly calling the timid boy a giant wuss. Our mothers laughed as he emerged from behind his hiding place and rushed forward to shove me. His tiny hands caught me by a surprise as they roughly collided with my flat chest. The twinkling laughter that was being shared between the two women subsided as I stared venomously from my spot on the floor.
"Whose the wuss now" spat the six year old as our mothers watched us in shock.
I smirked up at him. Before he could react I grabbed his meager ankle and yanked it forward with all the strength I could muster.
A look of shock masked his face as he fell backwards and hit the floor with a heavy thud. I scrambled to my feet and stood over him.
"Still you fart face."
He glared at me and balled his fist at his sides as I grinned down at him triumphantly.
"Lacey Ann Sullivan, you apologize to Chace this instant!"
My mother's face was flaming red with fury and embarrassment.
"But-"
"No buts young lady, help Chace up."
I huffed out a angry breath, but my fury quickly dissipated as I glanced back at Chace, whose bottom lip was slightly trembling.
I lent him a chubby hand and gave him a mumbled apology.
"I'm sorry too" he said offering me a small smile as he pulled himself up to his feet.
Chace fished for something in his pocket until he finally withdrew a Transformers toy. My eyes widened with happiness as he hesitantly offered it to me.
"Wow, this is Optimus Prime, he's the best of them all" I chirped in my overly excited high pitched voice.
"Friends?" He squeaked shyly.
I shook my head no and his sapphire doe eyes filled with sadness.
"Best Friends" I whispered.

Present day
"Hey roach, you eat one more of my cheese puffs, and I'll exterminate you."
Chace's hand paused over my cheese puff bag and lingered there. He peered up at me from under his shaggy brown hair that was a little too long, yet, still breathtaking on him.
"Come on Lace" he whined. "I'm a growing boy, you don't want me passing out from food deprivation, do you?
"You're seventeen Chace, all the growing you have to do is pretty much done."
A smirk threatened to emerge on his full lips as I glared at his hand, daring him to grab another cheese puff.
"Jeeze, if looks could kill..." he huffed, flipping his hair out of his blue eyes. I watched out the corner of my eye as he shifted a little closer to me on my bed and laced his hands behind his head.
He directed his attention towards the flat screen, which was now playing the movie Hangover II. We were suckers for a good comedy and spent most of our free time watching them together.
Right now I was positive that Chace was going to make another move for my cheese puffs, he merely directed his attention towards the movie as a diversion. Little did he know, my guard was as high as the Great Wall of China.
