Rose

The sun set in the West as I stood in the living room watching TV. I never understood Tv, so I watched it and tried to figure it out. I figured it out a little bit. The way people always sit on a couch after they come home, and turn on a show. The parents of Alex were watching some TV show about ghosts and demons. They calls movies like that horror movies. I don't understand how the movies scare people.

I stayed invisible. The hour passed and the sun was set. It was completely dark now. Finally Mr. and Mrs. Destra were done tv they went to bed.
I drifted up to Alex's room and saw him lying on his bed in his shorts and a T-shirt listening to music. I saw him stand up and leave the room and I followed him.

Alex walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. Probably for a snack, that's the most logical reason. He grabbed a glass and poured some orange juice in it. I always wondered how that tasted. Alex downed his juice then put his cup on the dishwasher and turned it on just like his parents ordered him to.

I walked down the hallway but in the wall. This hallway led to a belcony up the stairs. A beautiful balcony that overlooked the garden and it held just an overall spectacular view. Alex opened the door to the belcony and walked to the railing. He leaned on the railing whilst soaking in the gorgeous view. I stood beside his copying his actions.

"Hello." I said softly staying invisible. "Is someone there or am I really just going insane?" Alex asked defensively while glaring at the air and looking around. "I don't know, you tell me." I laughed lightly and made myself visible. "W-who a w-wait what?" Alex stuttered in utter shock. "Yes I'm a ghost no your not going insane and your mother saw me just didnt want to say anything." I summed it all up.

"Have you been stalking me?" Alex tilted his head. "No just observing." I replied. "But y-you're a ghost. How did you die?" He asked. "Suicide. And I feel you want to do the same." I said looking him in the eye. "I, I am depressed. No one cares. No one likes me and people just use me. My parents aren't proud about anything I do and they think I do nothing." Alex sighed and looked at his feet. "I caught on to some of that but you want to know a little something?" I asked. "Um, sure." Alex replied looking at me unable to meet my eyes. "Enjoy life while you can. Make the most of it even when your not happy because you only get live it once. Besides, the afterlife can be so boring." I waved in the air in a semi dramatic way. "I thought being a ghost would be cool. Get back at all the bullies and haters." Alex said smiled slightly. "Well Alex, let me tell you something. I will scare you out of the house if you don't treat me like I'm alive and look me in the eye." I said jokingly but Alex got the point.

"Alex do you self harm?" I questioned. "I uh have a few times." He admitted. I gave Alex a weak smile. "Get some sleep, you need it." "Who are you to tell me what to do. I'm probably older." Alex defended. "Oh yeah? How old?" I challenged. "Seventeen." Alex ran his fingers through his hair and changed his position to where he was facing my directly. "Alex,I'm from the times where people used like horses and maybe the odd car." I laughed. "But when did you, uh die?" Alex asked. "At the age of sixteen." I responded. "But still, I'm dead you're not. Now go." I said, smiling at him. "Fine. Good night. Oh before you leave, what's your name?" He asked. "Rose, Rose Hart." I said proudly, like I usually did. My parents were kind of famous in our town. "That's a pretty name." Alex said before turning and leaving.

I looked past the garden and smiled because that was the first compliment I have had in ages. Literally.
