Frisk looks up from the flowers that they had landed in to see that they're in a completely empty room with a door at the end of it. Cautiously, they head towards the door and enter the next room, where a flower is waiting in the middle of a patch of grass, almost as if it were a spotlight. It's the same golden flower from before, but with a face, and only a singular flower this time.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!" He says in a very excited manner. Frisk is startled, but then smiles to match the flower's mood.
"You must be a little lost! Don't worry, I'll just have to teach you about this place!" He says cheerfully."See that heart?" Flowey asks, as Frisk looks down at their jumper, to see that their heart is glowing. "That is your soul, the very culmination of your being! That soul of yours can get quite a bit stronger if you gain a lot of LV. What's LV stand for, you ask? Why, LOVE, of course!" Frisk lets out an annoyed sigh as the flower carries on with its impromptu speech. "Down here, LOVE is shared through little white friendliness pellets! Here! Grab every one you can!"
Flowey then releases 6 of them into the air and floats them towards Frisk. They plunge into their body and they start bleeding excessively. His smile turns into an evil grin, and he begins to speak;
"You IDIOT" He shouts. "In this world, it's kill or BE killed! Why would ANYONE pass up an opportunity like this?!?"
A circle of pellets appear around Frisk. They begin closing in.
"DIE." Flowey laughs maniacally.
Frisk stands still, awaiting for the death that awaits them, seeing no means of escape from the situation. Until, as the pellets are almost upon them, the pellets disappear. Flowey grows confused at this, and soon his face contorts from the previous maniacal face into a puzzled one, until a sudden ball of what seemed like fire hurdled towards Flowey, sending him flying away from Frisk, who still stood there.
From where the ball of fire originated from in the shadows, stepped out another monster, this monster had a kind, motherly look, and looked down at Frisk with a kind and compassionate face. The only way Frisk could describe this creature was as if the monster was a goat-like person. They wore a long, lilac robe with white sleeves, that appeared to have some sort of fancy symbol on the chest of the robe.
"What a terrible creature," The goat-like monster spoke aloud, with a soft and nurturing voice, "torturing such a poor, innocent youth..."
Frisk's face flashed with fear, and seeing this, the monster quickly reassured them, "Ah, do not be afraid, my child." There was a pause. "I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins. I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come here in a long time. Come! I will guide you through the catacombs."
Toriel spoke a simple, "This way." before turning her back and walking away from the patch of grass where Flowey had once stood. Frisk looked around at their surroundings before turning back to where Toriel had walked off and quickly followed, not wanting to be alone after their first encounter with a monster who had tried to kill them. A simple arch stood nearby, which Frisk guessed that the catacombs were located through there.
The walls were made of a strange magenta material, and standing near the center of the room was Toriel. There was a square of rose petals in the center of the room, which confused Frisk but they did not think on it for too long, as Toriel continued moving towards two staircases that came from the left and right. The shadow of the ruins loomed above them, and the sight filled Frisk with determination.
Following Toriel up the right staircase, they came upon a simple doorway with a window found on either side of it, vines hanging down both sides of the door. Toriel walked through the doorway first, Frisk following afterwards but pausing for a few moments, noticing the rose petals that littered the ground in front of the doorway, as well as the strange sign that was above the door.
