Flames to Dust

What does the moth love about the flame?

As it flutters around the fire of death

Innocence gets burned

And regret arises too late

The flame of the candle flickers

I, a helpless moth enticed to the brightness,

Dance around the dazzling light

Heat ignites my skin

My heart craves for the pleasure

Masking the pain

What is it in you that I cannot resist?

Your enchanting glow set my body ablaze

Passionate ecstasy,

Fervent desires

Fill up my senses

The fire consumes the nub of my being

Until the temporal madness starts to fade

Between one heartbeat and another

The flame dies away

And the moth suffers the aftermath pain

Of torn freedom

And all that’s left

Are ashes of perished bond

Flames turn into dust

Everything always comes to an end.
