88 days with Kai

"So you're Rosie's boyfriend?", my father asked with his nice smile as Kai sat on a chair next to the bed. He nodded friendly at him with a bouquet of flowers on his lap. "I suspect that Rosie told you to buy white roses, am I right?", he looked at the roses and then at him. He shook his head. "No, in South Korea white roses are the symbol for respect, so I decided to take them.", he smiled while taking them. He put them into the empty vase and eyed my father again who nodded with his eyes closed. "Mister?...", Kai suddenly widened his eyes when he lay down on the bed saying nothing. "Mister?", he was louder than before already standing infront of the bed. He ran outside to find someone as he took a nurse and leaded her to the room.

My family, especially Kelly, were relieved that my father did it well and as Kai came, we were even happier. He was so nervous when he saw my father the first time. He bought him flowers and visited him where my father fell asleep after five minutes. He was pretty scared that it was so quickly but when the nurse told him that everything is okay, he was relieved. I laughed while he told me this during our phone call. "It's not funny, he surprised me so much... the nurse told me some minutes ago that he wants to see me again. I love you.", he said and hung up. I wanted to say something... When I put my phone on the couch table I helped my mother with the food she was preparing. "Jongin is such a nice guy, Rosie! I am so happy that you met him.", she said as she saw me entering the kitchen and washing my hands next to her. "I have only met him through my clumsiness, Mum. I have gotten that from you.", I answered her while she started laughing. "I've met your dad like this, too. I was walking with a coffee in my hand to my working place when I bumped into him and spilled the hot coffee on his blue shirt. But we forgot about it when our eyes met.", she laughed even more that her laugh lines became bigger. Suddenly I got a call of the nurse who looked after my father. "We want to inform you that your father will be released today. As I know, someone is visiting him right now.", she said as I interrupted her, "Yes, he's my boyfriend who is visiting him. Can my father go with him?", she agreed to it and told me she would inform them, too before she hung up. "Dad will be here today!", I said with a grand smile plastered on my face. My mother put everything she was holding on the kitchen isle and hugged me. "Finally."

At evening, we sat on the table and ate the food we prepared. "Thank you for coming.", my father said holding the glass of water while he looked at Kai, Melanie, Nicolas and me. Melanie's children were playing in the living room with the toy cars. "We are happy that everything is fine now.", Nicolas said as he put his hand on Melanie's while looking at her, smiling. "Nicolas is right. Since you woke up from your coma, we all are happy.", I added with a lovely smile at my father. "I want to say you that I am happy that  everything went well, that I am meeting the most important people in my life in one room, my family who didn't give up in such a hard time. I want to thank Rosie and Jongin for coming from far away because of me. Seeing you two smiling to each other would be a new precious memory in my long life. Melanie, Nicolas, thank you for loving each other and giving life to the siblings who finally learned to take steps by themselves. I am thanking you for making me a grandfather."

His speech made me smile widely after the dinner. Kai and I were sitting on the hollywood swing having our hands intertwined. "My girlfriend's father is so wise. Thank you for meeting them.", he said while I had my head on his shoulder. "Although we know each other not more than a month, I can say that it feels like I know you my whole life.", I said after a quick silence. "I think the same-", he said as suddenly he got a call of his manager. After the call he told me that the meeting with all EXO members, Jessica, Jinho and me would be on another day. "So, next Saturday will be the meeting?", he nodded as he moved my head on his shoulder again before Kelly came smiling widely. "Mum and Dad went sleeping, you will sleep in the guest room, okay?", she told us when suddenly I start giggling. "I love this pajama!", I stood up and took a better look on it. "I remember when we decorated this. My whole face was full of pink glitter because Melanie throw it at me.", she laughed when she looked at it, too remembering. "You're still saved as the glitter fairy on my phone."

It was already dark outside when we went to our guest room. Everybody was sleeping calmly, so we tried to do less noises. As I closed the door I felt his strong arms around my waist turning me to him that our eyes met. I pressed my lips against his putting my arms on his shoulders, letting them hang. The kiss wasn't long because of a loud noise outside of the room. "What was that?", he whispered in my ear looking at the closed door. "I don't know... Let's look!", I whispered back and took a step to the door. At first, I put my ear on the door hearing heavy steps becoming louder. Kai dragged me away from the door to leave me standing behind him. He opened the door when suddenly my father was standing infront of the door. We startled when we saw him. "Dad! Is everything alright?", from Kai's behind I went to my father who seemed to have a heavy headache. Kai grabbed his arm when he suddenly didn't feel the ground on his foot. He leaded him to our bed letting him to sit down. I ran to the kitchen taking medicine and a glass of water noticing a bottle lying on the ground. When I arrived in the room I saw him smiling at Jongin.

"I was about to take a bottle of water when the headache started again. The water bottle that was in my hand fell and because I noticed the light in this room I thought I could get some help. Thank you.", he said when I handed him the pain killers with the water. I worried a lot about my father... After some minutes his headache became weak and he left the room to go sleeping.

He noticed me having tears in my eyes when he looked my reflection through the mirror. He backhugged me tightly whispering lovely words into my ear. He wanted to let go, but I pleased him to stay like this for a bit more, all of a sudden. He smiled looking at our reflection on the mirror. "I love you.", I smiled at the mirrored Kai, lightly nodding. "I feel the same way as you." With these words I turned the lights of and we went to sleep.

The three words he said to me impressed me that I fell asleep with a smile on my face and his scent right next to me.
