Yellow carnations - The flower of disappointment.

"Can you stop being so... sad for a minute and just chill?" Elnora groaned at the five foot something next to her. "I swear Archer if you value your face, then stop mopping around like a heartbroken sap."
"But I am a heartbroken sap." Came Archers reply in an annoying tone. Elnora rolled her eyes in reply even though she knew that he couldn't see.
She thought that there was nothing worse than a sarcastic Archer but right now, Elnora would trade anything for that rather than the melodramatic and gloomy boy he was being.
Archer entered the flower shop approximately an hour after it opened. Elnora was startled to say the least. She assumed that he would just buy flowers like he usually does and then leave. But here he is. Following Elnora like a lost puppy.
Archer took the words that Elnora said the day before a little too seriously and was now using her as a shoulder to lean on. Quite literally if one may add. She tried swatting his head away but it was firmly stuck on her shoulder.
"I have to get to work Archer." She said with finality in her voice. "So go." He replied.
"You see, I would. If your head wasn't glued to my God damn shoulder!"
"So don't go." He declared and Elnora could hear the amusement in his voice.
Elnora released a sound of complete frustration and tried pushing his head again but it was useless. "Archer please. I have to go."
With a sigh, his head was lifted off her shoulder and Elnora quickly distanced herself from the boy. "Geez man. How much does your head even weigh?" She massaged the area vigorously as he stood still with a pout. "Go ahead. Do your work. Leave me alone."
The both of them stared each other down. Ocean blue eyes narrowed at coffee brown ones. It lasted for about a minute until finally, Elnora gave up. "Fine. You can tag along if you want to."
"Yes! Thanks El. You're the best." It was the first time that Elnora didn't actually mind the nickname. She shrugged and turned her back on him.
Tory, who was conversing with a customer, looked at Elnora with nothing but confusion. She frowned as Elnora passed by her but grinned when she saw Archer in tow. Elnora had been getting not so subtle pinches from Tory since the morning and was sure that her side now had tiny purple marks.
Upon reaching their destination, Elnora halted and motioned for Archer to do the same. "I won't be needing the ladder today since you're tall and stuff. Could you get those plastic bags for me?" She pointed at the top of shelf and Archer nodded.
With ease, Archer stretched his hand above him and grabbed the bag in a swipe. Elnoras eyebrows rose infinitesimally but her mouth was sealed shut. She found it unfair that she had to climb on ladders while other people didn't even have to stand on their tip toes.
He handed the bag to her. "What's in here? Your ex's dead body?"
"Bingo. Your body's gonna be added too if you annoy me." Elnora quipped with a bright smile.
They headed to the store room and Archer watched as Elnora scanned the room and took the things she needed which were two pairs of scissors. "Wait you weren't exactly serious about that threat now were you?"
"Calm down will you? Scissors aren't exactly my forte; too messy. I'd prefer a sharp knife. Everything would be over in one quick slice." She made a loud snipping noise with her scissor and almost guffawed when she saw that his eyes widened noticeably.
