Chapter 12-The one sided fight

~~~Nightmare's POV~~~

'I knew he wouldn't like the idea of her leaving.' I think to myself as I watch Asgore's smile fall to a frown. "Why would you want to leave my child? You are safe here." He insisted.

"I need to get back to the surface... To get back to my.. Parents." Y/N hesitated when saying 'Parents', I could understand her hesitation.

"I understand your need to go back to the surface, but please listen when I say, it's safer to stay here." Asgore said calmly, clearly trying not to loose his cool.

"Asgore, I'm sorry but I need to go."

"Child, you must stay if you wish to continue living.

"But-"

"No, buts!" He yelled causing us both to jump. "Child you are staying and that is final." He said in a threatening tone.

"Y-Yes sir." Y/N said quietly. Asgore nodded.

"Good, now stay here. I have something important to do." He said and got up.

Once he left the room I followed, making sure not to go too far from Y/N, and watched him go downstairs. My eyes widened. "Y/N come on, we need to follow him downstairs." I said to Y/N as I looked at her. She looked at me with slightly fearful eyes.

"But... Asgore'll get mad again." She said fearfully. I sighed and looked at her sympathetically. I walked over to where she sat and hugged her tight. She hugged back.

"You'll be fine, I promise." I whispered into her ear. She nodded and I released her and looked into her eyes with a soft smile, but it disappeared into a serious frown. "Come on now, it's best we follow him. I believe he is going to try and trap us here." Her eyes widened in shock before she got up instantly. She grabbed my hand and we ran into the living room. "Downstairs, come on." I said pulling her to the staircase.

We ran down the stairs, almost falling a few times, before we reached a hallway. I saw Asgore's foot before it disappeared around the corner. We ran after him and turned the corner just as he formed a fireball. He was about to through it until he heard us-well Y/N-running to him. He stopped his attack and got rid of the fireball.

"Child, I thought I told you to stay upstairs." He said in a threatening way without turning around.

"Asgore please! I wish to go home!" Y/N yelled in desperation. Asgore sighed sadly.

"You wish to go home that badly?" He asked.

"Y-Yes." She stuttered but kept a firm tone.

"As I said most monster's will try to attack and kill you. Do you know the reason as to why?"

"No."

"They will want you SOUL, the culmination of your being, to use it in order to break the barrier. In order to use your SOUL, you must die." Y/N looked at me in fear, but looked back to Asgore. "I am not like any of the other monster's," Y/N relaxed a bit. "Unlike them, I will give you a painless death." Asgore said finally turning around, fireballs surrounding him. A fight started.

I watched as Y/N's SOUL came out and I finally got a chance to see its true color. My eyes widened. It... was beautiful, yet corrupted.

A gold SOUL floated in front of Y/N, shining as bright as day, but was also dim from the black slime that coated it. I watched it in amazement until I noticed four buttons in front of Y/N.

[Fight] [Act] [Item] [Mercy]

Were the buttons, I looked at Y/N who was staring at her SOUL and the buttons in confusion.

"Y/N, don't worry about the other buttons, just focus on the Mercy button okay?" I told her putting a hand on her shoulder. She jumped at my touch and glanced at me but nodded and stuck her hand over the Mercy button. She pressed it and the buttons disappeared.

"Child, I wish not to harm you, go back upstairs." Asgore said and started throwing fireballs. Y/N tried to move out of the way of one but I held her in place and used my magic to form a bone that blocked the fireball. Asgore's attack stopped as he looked at Y/N confused, but shook it off. Y/N hit mercy once more.

"Child, these monsters will attack and try to kill you. If you know what's best you will go back upstairs." Asgore said once more and started attacking again, but with more fireballs. I summoned more bones to block the fireballs, none hitting us. This seemed to frustrate Asgore a bit. Mercy. I could feel myself slightly sweating from the use of my magic again.

"Child I command you to go back upstairs!" He yelled and threw even more fireballs. I again summoned bones to block. One fireball somehow got through and I used my tentacle to block it. I flinched as it hit the sensitive magic but kept up my blocking, making sure no attacks got through.

It was Y/N's turn but she didn't click any of the buttons. "Are you okay Nightmare?" She asked me, I looked at her and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired." I reassured her. She kept her concerned look but hit Mercy again. I looked at Asgore as he stared at Y/N confused, yet angry.

"Child." He paused. "Stop this, nonsense and go upstairs." He barely attacked. Mercy.

"Child, stop using Mercy and Flee. Go. Upstairs." He threatened and barely attacked again. Mercy.

"I TOLD YOU TO STOP!" Asgore yelled and surrounded us in Fireballs. I summoned three gaster blasters to protect us from the sides and back. I used bones to protect our front. Mercy. Asgore looked at Y/N in shock but soon a tear fell from his bloodshot eye.

"Please child. Go upstairs and forget about leaving." He said lowering his head. All of his attacks started to miss on purpose. Which was a good thing since I was breathing heavily and sweating up a storm. Mercy.

"I beg you my child. I don't want to lose another one." He almost whispered. Again, his attacks missed. Mercy.

"I guess I should have expected this." He smiles sadly. His attacks miss again. Mercy.

"I cannot keep you here forever and I shouldn't have tried to force you." A message appeared below the four buttons. I looked at it in shock.

 Asgore is sparing you.

Y/N smiled sadly and hit Mercy once more. Asgore looked up tears tracks covered his face as he smiled sadly. "I-I'm sorry for trying to keep you here, you may leave now." Asgore said and started to walk past Y/N.

"Wait!" She said causing him to turn around. She gave him a hug, both Asgore and I were shocked. "Thanks for protecting me and letting me stay the night." She said. Asgore smiled and hugged her back.

"Your welcome my child." He said and released Y/N and looked at her in the eyes. "You must go now, and what ever you do, continue onwards." Asgore said and started back down the hallway.

We watched him go down the hallway and turn the corner. That's when I noticed a white blur. I frowned. 'What was that?' I thought to myself and walked forward a bit. The white blur looked around the corner once more. 'There!' I thought and sent my tentacles at the creature. "Nightmare!" Y/N yelled, but I caught the creature and pulled it towards us. It wriggled in my grip trying to get out, to no avail. I pulled it closer until I was on top of it.

"Temmie?"

DUN DUN DUUNN!! How did you guys like my fight scene? =D Good? Bad? Oh well, I was bored and decided to write this chapter since I had nothing better to do. Anyways! Next chapter we shall meet the skelebros finally and find out what Temmie wants. Also I have no clue whether Temmie is a male or female so can someone tell me? lol. Anyhoo!
