My phone went off and I looked at Jack. I wandered out of the room and to the living room where I answered the phone.

"Hey!" I said with a genuine smile.

"Hi!" Nathan said back. "How's life treating you?"

I cleared my throat and laughed. "Like shit. You?"

"Same. You sound like you're catching a cold."

He was right, my voice was raspy and gross. "Eh it's whatever ya know?"

"Hell yeah I know. How's Jack doing?"

I cleared my throat. "Nothing's changed, nothing's new. Except he said his medicine was having a lot of side effects. But I dunno if it's the pills or him himself."

"Yeah I feel. That's actually what I called about. You guys wanna go out or something? Just so we can see how he reacts. We might need to change out his prescription."

"Uh yeah! Hold up lemme ask him."

I turned away from the phone and called down the hallway. "Jack! You wanna go hang out with Josh and Nathan?"

Jack peeked his head out of the room. "Sure, I'm down."

I picked the phone back up to my ear. "Yeah, where you guys wanna meet?"

"Let's go eat. Bingo Burger?"

I shrugged as if he was in front of me. "Sounds good. We'll be there in a bit."

I hung up and walked into the room. Jack was looking for a shirt to wear. I went up behind him and kissed the back of his neck. I tucked my arms under his and ran my fingers over a few stitches. His head leaned back onto my shoulder. I massaged around one of the x's on his chest and he winced. He sat up and pushed me away. I stumbled back in shock.

He looked up at me, regret written all over his face. "Shit, I..."

I shuffled back up to him. "It's okay. I should've known." I half heartedly smiled for a split second.

His hand crawled up to my cheek and pulled me in. His fingers twitched in my hair as our lips met. The kiss got heated as he attempted to slide his tongue in. I pushed him against the wall and fought for dominance. He knit his eyebrows and grunted. His hand was on my chest gripping my shirt. I could tell he was debating if he should push me away or not.

I pulled back for a second. "Jack?"

His grip tightened and he pulled me back in. He tilted his head and we continued to fight for dominance. I bit his lip and his eyes shot open. His grip loosened and he opened his hand to push me off. He looked up at me and breathed out sharply. I raised my eyebrows.

"I-i should've known not to pull you back in. I knew it was gonna happen."

I grabbed his hand and looked at the bandages wrapped around his knuckles. "You didn't know. You're fine, it's okay. Do what you have to."

He pulled his hand away from mine. His eyes shot up at me. He looked so worried, like he was afraid of messing something up. He flipped back around to the closet and grabbed and shirt to throw on. I helped him sit on the bed so he could pull on his shoes.

"Lemme see your arm." I grabbed some bandages from the nightstand.

He groaned and picked up his arm. I wrapped the bandage around his stitches. He pulled the shirt on once I finished.

"Did you wrap your leg too?"

He shook his head.

"Take 'em off." I motioned at his jeans.
