Chapter 2

Last chapter: Suddenly the Campbell twins approached me and smiled at each other. Each of them took one of my hands and kissed them softly.

“Enchante, madam moiselle.” They both said together.

Oh shit…

Oh shit…

I was dumbfounded and everybody else was too, jaws hanging everywhere and their eyes bulging out of their sockets. At first I was just surprised but then I was filled with anger. I knew all of this was just a prank, I knew that they were just playing around with the loser so that they could boost up their new popularity. So I pulled my hands out of their grasp and the twins seemed genuinely shocked.

“Fuck off,” I hissed angrily.

“Wow, she’s a feisty one,” Zachary said, making me angrier.

“Yeah, at least she’s not one of those super shy ones. That would suck,” Felix remarked.

At this point I was fuming with rage; they were talking about me as if I wasn’t even there!

“Excuse me boys,” I said in the sweetest voice I could muster. They shifted their gaze towards me.

“Yeah?” they both asked.

“Could you please…Fuck off,” I said.

“Boys, sit down!” the teacher shouted angrily, I had forgotten he was even there.

The two brunette twins scrambled into the closest seat they could find…beside me.

“Damn it, can’t you sit somewhere else?” I muttered to them.

They just pretended like they couldn’t hear me and I decided to ignore them so I could listen to the teacher. I wrote down my notes vigorously and I had almost forgotten the two boys beside me, but then something hit the side of my head. I looked around in surprise and I found a paper ball on the floor beside my table. I ignored it, but soon I felt something hit my head again. I looked down and found two paper balls there, sighing I picked one up and read it.

“Hi! What’s up?” the paper said.

I looked to my side and saw Felix grinning and waving at me. I gave him a fake smile back but he seemed to be fooled by it because he gave me an even bigger smile. I tore the paper and threw it on his desk before returning to my notes.

The bell rang signaling the lunch break. It has been hell. The Campbell twins have been annoying since first period and I’m really confused because they have been ignoring the many beautiful girls who were trying to hit on them. Instead they have settled on making my life a living hell, most of my notes are incomplete and I messed up in my math test.

I rushed out of the room, with my bag, the minute the bell rang hoping to escape those brunette devils. I filed into the cafeteria and quickly got my food before I went to my table in the corner. I took one last look around the room and sighed contentedly, finally their gone, I thought.

“HEY!” I scrambled in shock as two annoying voices hit my ear from either side.

I looked at both my sides and saw Felix and Zachary sit down on either side of me with their lunch. They grinned at me.

“Oh, let’s play a game!” Zachary said. “Let’s play the doppelganger game!”

“Oh, yeah! I love that game!” Felix said.

“What’s the doppelganger game?” I asked out of curiosity.

“Ok we’ll show you.” The twins said at the same time and got up while I watched them.

“Close your eyes.” Felix said.

“Why?” I asked suspiciously.

“Oh relax we’re in public we won’t do anything serious.” Zachary said.

I glared at them.

“Come on a kiss on the hand is nothing serious,” Felix said, smiling.

“But we promise not to even touch you,” Zachary said, reassuringly.

I cautiously closed my eyes and then opened them again when they told me to. Before I closed my eyes Zachary was on the left while Felix was on the right, but now it seems they switched places because Zachary was on the right and Felix was on the left.

“What’s my name?” the twins said simultaneously.

“The one on the right is Zachary and the one on the left is Felix,” I replied.

“What? How did you know?” Felix asked.

“Well, Zachary has a slightly darker tan and hair that’s a little longer and Felix has a lighter shade of blue in his eyes,” I replied.

They stared at me funnily and I thought they would think I’m a freak and leave. I thought that’s what I had wanted but now I kind of liked them, I mean they really looked like they meant well. So right then and there I decided I would keep my guard up when I’m with them until I was sure they were really my friends. But, they probably don’t even want to be my friends anymore, I thought. Once again the twins surprised me.

“Wow! That was awesome!” Zachary said. “How did you do that?”

I blushed and said “What can I say, it’s what I do.”

We all laughed.

“On the other hand I ruined your game, sorry,” I said.

“Ah, we’ll find another one, no problem!” Felix said grinning. “In fact, how about we make a new game called ’Trying to outsmart Caroline’!”

“Oh yeah! That would be awesome!” Zachary commented.

I couldn’t help but giggle and they looked at me with wide grins on their faces.

“Hi there boys!”

Hearing someone’s voice, me and the twins looked up to see a beautiful, blonde girl with a flirty smile on her face. Chloe Anderson. She is one of the most popular girls in our school, having dated practically the whole football team and with basically all the boys of the school at her heels she was easily the prettiest girl in our school (after Camilla of course). Unlike Camilla, Chloe threw herself at every cute guy she found making her the much more popular one.

“I heard your new? My name is Chloe and unlike that loser you’re sitting next to, I’m cool. So, do you want to sit at my table?” Chloe said flirtatiously.

Felix and Zachary stood up with their lunch in their hands and I couldn’t help my heart breaking at that. I was so sad; I thought they were my friends.

Each of them stood on either side of her facing her shoulders and Chloe had a look of triumph on her face.

Just as Chloe was about to leave, Felix and Zachary dumped their lunch on her. Juice seeped down into her shirt and spaghetti was mixed into her hair. The twins laughed, holding their sides and I got up with my lunch tray. All three of them looked at me, surprised, as I dumped the rest of my lunch on Chloe as well.

“Ugh!” Chloe shrieked, before stalking off. “You’ll regret this, bitch!”

Me and the twins just laughed holding our stomach and I’m sure we looked like utter lunatics. But as I looked at the two brunettes beside me, my guard finally fell down. These were my new friends.
