#5 Pre Party Prep

The usual sound of the birds woke me up from my deep sleep

The day of J-Hopes celebratory party was here

I slipped on my silk dressing gown and headed down stairs to make breakfast. I always was an early bird, so I always made breakfast for J-Hope before he woke up

As I was preparing smoothies and a fry up I heard clumsy footsteps walking down the stairs

'You're up early' I turn around and place his plate of food on the breakfast bar where he was sat

'Yeah, I heard you get up so I decided I could get some things done before the party later'

'Oh yeah, do you want any help with decorations or food or anything?'

'Yeah, I could do with some of your baking skills, after all you did take the cooking genes from mum!' He smiles over to me as I plop onto the chair next to him whilst tucking into my eggs and bacon

'Hah, okay well what type of cake would you like?' I lean my elbows onto the counter waiting for his reply as he shoves a slice of toast into his mouth

'Erm... I think a classic chocolate cake will do'

'One chocolate cake coming up!' I scoot away from my seat and put the plates in the sink

'Oh I'm going for a quick shower but if the door bell ring sit should be my friend Nancy, shes helping decorate so just invite her in and tell her to begin okay?' He takes a towel from the washing basket and wraps it around his neck

'Will do'

*ding dong*

That's my queue

I quickly race to the door and open it to be faced with a pretty looking lady

'Hi, I'm Charley, Hope's sister. Nancy right?' I give her a friendly smile and welcome her inside

'Hi Charley, I've come to help with the decorations, where is J-Hope anyway?'

'Oh yeah, he shouldn't be much longer he said he was taking a shower. Do you want a drink or something whilst we wait?'

'Um.. Just water is fine'

I grab two water bottles from the fridge and sit on the sofa opposite from her, she looks the same age as J-Hope, probably a friend from his year

'Will you be at the party later?' I start to break the ice

'Yeah but I can't stay long, last time I went to party I didn't tell my parents and it didn't turn out well when they saw the pictures of me drunk with vomit all over me on the internet, I could've killed my friend Tammy for posting it!!'

You make conversation and become quite good friends when you find a lot of interests in common with each other

'So I see you have already made friends!' I turn around to see J-Hope walking down the stairs with his hair now neatly styled compared to his bed head this morning

'Uh yeah me and Nancy were just talking about the Netball tournament coming up at school, we might sign up together'

Sport was one of my passions before 'the accident' but I left it all behind along with my happiness so it was nice to finally be reunited with my love of sport again and to have a new friend to do it with made it all the more worthwhile

'Yeah, we are really similar as it happens' Nancy smiles at me and we both giggle

'Anyway shall we begin we only have a couple hours before the party will begin....'

Me and Nancy start by placing all the lights and bunting around the house, strings of LED lights and a disco ball in the living room

J-Hope sets up the music for the night and plays through all the songs making sure they fit for the party's mood

The glasses have all been set out on the kitchen table and bowls of snacks and crisps were laid out across the bar

'okay, I think we are all set, it looks amazing' All three of you look around the room with proud smiles across your faces

'Well I'm going up for a shower, Nancy in about ten minutes could you check on the cake in the oven, I think it will be done by then'

'Yeah sure, I can already smell it!'

I walk up stairs and take a quick shower

This feeling is weird normally I couldn't think of anything worse than attending a party and socializing but I'm actually really excited about tonight

I put on a casual black dress (the only dress I own) red high top converse and light makeup for a natural look and tie my hair up into a high, messy pony tail

I walk down the stairs, checking myself out in the mirror as I pass by

'Wow, you should dress more like that in the future!' I look up to see both Nancy and J-Hope both looking over at me

'What guys? It's not a big deal. Just a girl in a dress okay?'

'You look incredible, I love you sis!' J-Hope pulls me into a warm embrace and spins me around like what dad used to do

'C'mon guys, its 2:20 people will be coming any minute'

We all sit together with pre drinks in our hands patiently waiting for our first guest to arrive
