The early mornings light trickled into the nursery, Acornkit was wide awake before her mother and siblings, peeping her head outside the nursery.
"Acornkit!" Her mother, Wildflower, snapped. She immediately whipped her head around, startled. "What are you doing up so early." She said, narrowing her eyes. "Couldn't sleep," She mumbled softly. "Alright, just try not to disturb anyone, I don't want any complaints from other warriors," Acornkot nodded reluctantly looking at the now active camp.
She took a deep breath before stepping out of the dark, damp nursery. "Wow!" She breathed, turning her head in all directions. "Pretty amazing, isn't it," A deep voice rumbled behind her, she jumped surprised, turning quickly only to see a large Tom standing before her.
She widenedher green eyes till they were the size of moons. She gulped nervously, shooting a small glance at the Tom. "Don't worry," He purred with amusement. "I won't hurt you," Acornkit relaxed a tiny bit, but didn't say a word. "I'm Ashenstorm, Thunderclans deputy." She could feel her ears burning with embarrassment, she didn't want her first impression with the Deputy to have gone the way it did.
"You must be one of Wildflowers kits, and I correct?" She nodded slowly. "How did you know that?" She mewed. "Because every cat in the clan knows when a new arrivals come," He purred, quite amused. She tilted her head to the side, she didn't quite understand why he was purring, but she didn't mind.
"Where are your siblings?" Ashenstorm said, wrapping his long thin tail around his paws. "They're sleeping.." She said, shifting her paws. He nodded, "Well, I best be off, nice meeting you Acornkit." He purred. She managed to say bye before he left.
She sighed deeply, walking back inside the the nursery. "That was fast." Wildflower purred at Acornkit. She nodded, trotting over to the nest. Closing her eyes, falling asleep within a few heartbeats.
"Acornkit! Acornkit! Wake up!" Tiny paws were poking her side repeatedly. She flailed her tiny paws at the cat poking her. "What?" She mumbled, sleep brimming in her eyes as she heaved her self up. she set her eyes on her brother, Mousekit. "Let's go explore!" He said, excitement overtaking his voice.
She rolled her large green eyes, "You had to wake me up because of that?" Wildflower came walking in, "Mousekit, did you wake up Acornkit?" She frowned. "Yeah.." He mumbled softly. "I told you not too." Wildflower said sternly. Acornkit wrapped her tail around her paws triumphantly. Wildflower stalked off to the Fresh Kill Pile.
"Thanks a lot, Acornkit." Mousekit growled, turning towards his sister. "You're the one who woke me up!" She spat back. He growled stalking off. She chuckled, deciding she should go outside now that she was awake.
She trotted outside, sighing as the late afternoons rays of light shined right in her eyes. She flicked her tail lightly, sitting down right in the middle of camp.
"Out of the way." A low voice growled behind her. She jumped, her little tail bristling."Well, don't just stand there, move." He growled. Acornkit turned around. A large grey Tom loomed over her. "Sorry." She mumbled. He rolled his eyes. "I did t say apologize, I said move!" She turned around. She quickly got out of the way. "Kits..." The large apprentice mumbled.
Her tail was still fluffed up. If she wasn't awake then, she was awake now. She scrambled around, exploring every new bit that she was seeing. This is great! She thought as she continued to scramble around.
When Acornkit saw the sun going behind the large mountain, she trotted to the nursery, smiling widely. "I see your happy." Wildflower purred. "But tired." Acornkit added. "Well you best get off to bed." Acornkit nodded reluctantly, stifling a large yawn.
She curled up next to Mousekit and her mother. Closing her large green eyes.
