I knocked on the door lightly and waited for someone to open the door. Please, please open the door, I thought to myself. I waited. A few minutes, a second, an hour, maybe even an eternity until finally the door flew open.

"I'm so sorry! I can't believe I did that to you! I love you so much, and I don't know why I did what I did. It wasn't my place to treat you like that. God please, please forgive me Lily!" I cried. On the other side of the door stood lily, shocked and very sad. Her eyes were welling up as the tears threatened to fall from her eyes. This is my fault. I should never have opened my mouth, I should have just let well enough alone and be happy for my best friend. Now she hates me, and she's sad like I am, and it's all my fault. She looked me up and down with confusion as she took in my fancy attire.

"Where the hell are you going all sexy mama?" She asked me winking at me. Uh? Did I just hear correctly was she asking me where I was going instead of chewing my ass out no more tears even close to pouring out her eyes? What the hell did I walk into? The twilight zone?

"Uh, to dinner with my parents? I'm going to tell them about the baby. Why aren't you mad? You should be yelling at me telling me you hate me and you never want to see my face again?" I was completely and utterly confused by her reaction.

"I was very mad at you for a while actually, but then I realized that you aren't you, you're pregnant so you're kinda cuckoo for coco puffs right now. I know you would never act like that otherwise. You are my best friend I know you. You only lash out under massive amounts of stress, and well while you're pregnant too, I guess. I'm not mad at you anymore. I love you! But I just wanted you to have to suffer just a little while, until you broke down and apologized; I'm sorry on that part," she shrugged her shoulders feeling guilty.

"It's ok I forgive you," I say softly.

"And I forgive you too. So give me a hug, and tell me everything that's been happening since we faught," she closed the distance between us and we hugged each other tightly, neither one of us wanting to let go of each other.

"Babe it's time to go, we don't want to be late," Johnny called to me from the living room area of the clubhouse. I let go of Lily and twisted my mouth to the side, and shrugged.

"I better go Lil, but when I get back I'll tell you everything, including what happens with my parents," I waved goodbye to her and she shut Jason's room door with a thumbs up; and shouted a good luck to me.

"You ready Freddy," I said as I made my way to Johnny.

"Not really, but we gotta do it sometime, and now's better then later," he laughed nervously, he grabbed my hand in his and led me out the door to my car, to his father's pick up truck. Luckily his dad let him borrow it for tonight. It was nice, it was a brand new Ford F-150. Jet black of course, and dark tinted windows. His dad had bought it a week ago, he said for himself, but I know the real reason he bought it. He bought it for Johnny and I. He wanted Johnny to have a mode of transportation when he was with the baby, because a motorcycle isn't meant for a baby. Johnny's father Robert was going to give it to Johnny after the dinner tonight, and I couldn't wait to see the long awaited father son moment.

Ever since Johnny told his father I was pregnant, when he first found out in Sal's bar, him and his father grew closer. I think it's better late than never, considering he wasn't really there for Johnny when he was growing up. I think this is a way of making up for it, by being in our lives now, and our child's. I just hope my parents will feel the same way.

I was always close with my parents being the only child, but it wasn't always a walk in the park, my parents couldn't have anymore children after me, I guess I caused my mother damage when she was giving birth to me, so I was always alone. I never had a sibling to keep me company, to fight with, be friends with, and I know my parents felt my pain, just like I felt theirs. They never adopted, not sure why, but it was ok I had cousins and friends to keep me company.

As we drove, the truck was quiet. Only the thick tense air to surround us. We were both very apprehensive about telling my parents, I know my parents were very old fashioned, so I'm sure they'd probably judge me.

We pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and found a spot to park the truck. Johnny told me to stay in the truck so he could open the door and help me, because let's face it the truck was a monster and even though I was 5'6 I still had a hell of a time getting in or out of it. He opened my door, and I kinda leaped out as gracefully as I could so Johnny could catch me before I fell. He shut my door, then clicked the alarm locking it then grabbed my arm and linked his with mine.

We walked inside and told the hostess our names since I had made a reservation a while ago for us. She guided us to a table for four and handed us some fancy looking menus. Another girl came shortly after and asked us what we wanted to drink, I chose a sparkling cider, while Johnny chose a Jack and coke.

While we waited for my parents to arrive, I took a moment to look at my favorite restaurant. It was fancy to say the least. All the tables were topped with white linen table cloths. On top of that was a tiny glass bowl with a cinnamon scented candle inside of it. The table itself was metal with flowery designs on the legs of the tables, they were also black. The seats had white cushions, and the chair frames were the same design as the table. The building was very rustic, mostly likely built during the 1700's when the French still inhabited new Orleans.

The whole design screamed French, it was simply beautiful, and pristine. The walls were an off white, and in the center of the restaurant was a fireplace. It was two stories, and the upper level was more for couples than for parties like the first level was, no doubt that's where men proposed. It was well secluded, and there was a window that overlooked the streets of NOLA. The stairs leading up to it was built into the wall, and were big enough for two people to go up and down them without hassle. The handrail was black cast iron and was made up of unique flower designs.

I sat with Johnny next to me, as I stared blankly at the cursive written on the menu, when I first heard footsteps. Footsteps, coming in our direction. When I turned around I looked at my parents, and mentally sighed. This was it, this was going to be my last night on earth, ground eat me whole.
