Pound, pound, pound.
Noises like jackhammers roared through my mind, while light shown through my bedroom window into my closed eyes.
"Turn down the damn blinds Lily you know I don't like the sun shining in my room!" I shouted with tired breath.
Finally deciding enough was enough, I forced one eye open, regretting it instantly. The lights were just way too bright, and the noise was still radiating through my skull.
Come on Avery, and grow the hell up, I thought. Instead of opening only one eye like the last time, I forced both my eyes open.
What the fuck?
Where the hell was I? This wasn't my room. This was way too dirty and frat house -like. There were clothes strewn everywhere. There were used condoms on the floor, beer bottles, plates of dried moldy food, and empty syringes.
Who the hell lived in a place like this? It was disgusting. What the hell happened last night for me to end up here, in this pigsty? I didn't remember a thing.
The last thing I remembered I was drinking with Johnny and my best friend Lily. Oh my God where was Lily? And why were my ears ringing so badly? Was that the pounding noise that woke me up? Or was it because I was completely hungover?
I looked around the room checking out the place nearly blinding myself from the sunlight shining through the blinds. Who let's the sunshine shine in their room? I looked down towards the bed I was lying in. At least the bed looked clean, although I couldn't tell for sure because my eyes were still adjusting to the light. I looked down at myself and screamed. Oh God, no, please God no!
I blinked and looked back down at myself this can't be happening, how could this have happened in one day? What in the fuck? I couldn't be...I couldn't be pregnant! Especially this pregnant in one day. Oh my God. I threw the covers off my body and saw I was completely naked underneath them. I turned my head to the left of me and there was a male figure lying next to where I was on the bed. I could have sworn he was not there a second ago. Were my eyes still adjusting to my atmosphere?
It was not just any man, but Johnny. I pushed his body trying to wake him up but he wouldn't wake. I pushed him till he was lying on his back, and when I had, there was a big gaping wound on his abdomen.
His insides slid out of the wound from the movement. It was disturbing and it made me throw up on the floor. They had looked like a string of sausage links as they spilled out of him.
I screamed again, louder and louder but no one came to help me. The once, drop-dead, gorgeous man, was not even near recognizable.
Besides the hole on his stomach, his face was full of scratches. You could still tell it was him, but it was like someone had mauled him with their fingers. Instinctively, I looked at my hands.
Oh God, no! What have I done?
It was me, I had done this to him. The proof was under my fingernails. Dried blood and pieces of his flesh were embedded into the underside of them.
I ripped off the blankets from his side and noticed he was naked as well. The sheets were soaked crimson red from his blood. I rushed off the bed and went over to him. On the floor on his side of the bed was my best friend, Lily, lying lifeless with a big hole in her chest, in a pool of her blood.
I remembered what had happened in here, it all clicked into place all at once. I was sleeping with him for a while since I was knocked up with his kid. Lily came over to come hang out with us, we all decided to get drunk and high off of something. When we got hungry I decided I wanted to go get take-out for us to eat.
