The Rise of King Sombra/Distaste of Harmony ~ Chapter Eight

In the middle of the night, a shadow lurks around the corner of the Crystal Empire and floats around the skies before disappearing for cover. The shadow crawled its way towards the crystal heart and brought out the same crystal heart but a fake one before switching the two.

Then, the shadow went to the highest peak of the Castle and hid the crystal heart inside before disappearing for the night.

Before the shadow could disappear into the night, it sensed something about a powerful love aura coming from the place called PonyVille and knew that his meal is the next course of the menu.

Princess Cadence tossed and turned in her sleep before waking up with a light scream. She looked around the room before realizing that she was safe and calmed down.

Trying to go back into sleep was not in her option. So, she got out of bed and head out of her bedroom to get some fresh air. After getting some fresh air outside, her instincts were tingling and she was on high alert.

Something was wrong, indeed. It came from outside of her castle and the sky was decorated with red hue and dark storming clouds but Cadence seemed to pay any attention.

Before climbing to bed to catch some sleep, Cadence sighed heavily on getting a nightmare about how her parents were merciless killed by a dark shadow and she knew who is the dark shadow.

It was King Sombra.

King of darkness.

Shadow of the night.

Master of creating dark crystals.

Leader of all shadows and haunting her dreams.

Princess Cadence needs somepony to help her and silently send a message to her husband, who was in PonyVille to pay a visit to his little sister, before going back to bed.

By morning, I yawned sleepily before getting of bed and brushed my own messy mane. The sun was shining brightly and there was no cloud in sight.

Too lazy to make my own breakfast, I padded my way into the Sweet Bakery Corner and entered to see Sweet Orchid baking muffins, cupcakes, cakes, and many more yummy treats.

"Oh! Goodmorning, Moony!" Sweet greeted putting aside the bowl of batter before pulling out a menu with the use of her magic. "What can I get for you today?"

"Goodmorning to you too, Sweet. I want a full plate of cupakes with candied sprinkles, blueberry muffins, and two slices of blueberry cheesecake." I yawned sleepily as Sweet take down everything she said with a notebook and pen in the grasp of her magic before going to the kitchen.

I rubbed my eyes with the use of my front hoof before opening them fully and found Poison Joke looking at me with happiness lingering in her blue green eyes.

Shrieking in surprise, I fell back from my chair and my back hit the wooden floor before rubbing the side of her head with a hoof. "What in the name of Celestia was that for?!" I yelled before Poison lifted me up easily from the floor. "Sorry for scaring the crap out of you, MoonShard." She apologized and take a seat next to me.

"Cut the crap, Poison."

"My brother will pay a visit today in PonyVille and I am so super excited to see him!"

I blinked in surprised, "That's great. But I thought he stayed with Princess Cadence in the Crystal Empire."

Poison sighed, "Yeah, that I was thought so. But I don't know why he wants to visit me and the others."
