It been a week since I graduated high school. I was laying on the couch reading an old book. My mom threw herself on top of me and made me hit myself with my book, "What's up, mom?"
She got off of me and sat next me. And with a big smile, "You wanna look at your yearbook?"
I got up and I groaned. "No, mom, I really don't.."
"Awe, why not?"
My sister came to the family room, "Because she's an emotional wreck!"
I put my book on the table and threw her pillows until my mom yelled at me. "Hey! Stop! Shit isn't cheap. Sidney, get out of her. I wasn't talking to you and when I do talk to you...you don't answer! So get out!"
We all laughed and my mom threw a small pillow. She looked at me when she sat and patted the seat next to her. She put the year book on her lap, "Sweetie, why don't you want to look at your yearbook? We paid good money for this thing.."
I began to pout because it was true, "Mom, it's just I'm not ready."
"What," she laughed, "Sweetheart, you're in half of the pictures!"I looked at her and took the yearbook away from her, "Did you read anything?"She began to lie, "NO!...Ok, yeah, I kinda did. You have weird friends." I walked upstairs, "I'm not ready, mom. And I had friends. You were right about 'friends'."
She walked towards the kitchen, "I'm always right.."
As I went to my room, I looked at my phone...as usual no messages.
I got bored in my room so I went downstairs with the yearbook in my hand, "I think I'm ready..Ask me anything you want to know.."
There was a long pause when she was cutting the food for dinner, "Caleb Evans. He left a cute note in one of the pages.." I heard her smile.
I went upstairs running and checked it by myself, "How did I not notice?!" I never read my yearbook when I got it signed. My plan was to wait for many years. My mom ruined my plans...she fucked up my puzzle..
I began to flip pages for 5 minutes and I finally found it.
DEAR B,
I OWE YOU A SOLID. HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE, GORGEOUS BRAT ;) AHA
LOADS OF LOVE! AND I'LL TRY TO KEEP IN TOUCH

I closed the yearbook and I felt weird inside. I hated his guts.
My phone vibrated.
CALEB EVANS: Hey, B :)
"Fuck Caleb Evans.."
And then I began to questioning if Caleb was watching me or something and I put my yearbook under my bed. I looked at my phone..."I'll text him in a week or so.." I was committed to that this time.
