"I think we can catch the next shuttle out of here." Paige says as we walk down the crowded hallway to the baggage claim.

"It's gonna suck, you know? Flying into san Fancisco on a Friday. The traffic is going to be awful." I remind her and she nods her head.

"Ya, I know. But then when we get to the apartment, we can rest for the night."

Once we get our bags we go outside and wait for the next shuttle.

"The moving van will be at our place around 7pm tomorrow." Paige says while checking her phone.

"So that will give us enough time to explore the city a little. And it might take some time to get used to the time change" I say tightening my arms around my waist.

It is freezing. why is San Fancisco so cold?

"How long of a drive do you think it will be?" I ask pulling the sleeves of my sweater over my hands.

"Probably only around 20 minutes. Wait... more around 30. Traffic."

The small blue bus arrives and we climb on quickly in hopes that we can sit instead of stand and hold on for dear life.

"Look." I whisper to Paige and point out the window to the intimidating city ahead of us.

What are we getting ourselves into?

"It's amazing." The tall buildings, the bridge, and the beautiful water.

I'm starting to see why this was such a great idea.

After we pass through the busy streets of the city, we finally get to our building. We are staying in the Fontana Towers. The west Fontana tower to be exact. The 26th floor, sea view.

The stop was at the end of the block, so we struggle to carry our heavy bags to the front of the building. We spend the next few minutes checking in and working our way to the elevator.

"This is a lot of work and we haven't even been here for an hour." I say setting down my bags and pushing the glowing "26" button.

"Ya but after we get settled in it will be great."

"I know but it's so energy consuming."

"You're so lazy. Lucky you got a job where you don't have to move much." she laughs.

"I know. But it's going to be emotionally consuming. And a lot of memories are going to come back."

"It's ok. Maybe it will help you feel better, and it will be easier for you to understand what the people calling in are going through." she puts her arm around me just as the the elevator dings and the door slides open.

"Here we go!" We make our way down the long hallway to our room.

"Room 2614. Let's go." I put in and turn the key.

The door opens smoothly and reveals a large, and very empty room. First seen is the window that covers the whole back wall, giving a beautiful view of the San Francisco bay, and Golden Gate Bridge. The walls are off-white and have a dark grey trim. The creamy white carpet looks clean and new. Our kitchen is directly to our left. Cherry wood cabinets go from the ceiling to just about two feet above the dark granite counter. Dark, shiny wood covers the floor.

Off to the right is a short hallway with the bathroom, and a small closet. Past the kitchen is another hallway that breaks off into two rooms, and at the end, another closet. I take the room to the right, and Paige, to the left.

My room has white walls and light brown, fluffy carpet. Paige's is exactly identical mine.

"It's amazing." I say running my hand across the empty wall.

"It really is. But what are we going to sleep in tonight?" Paige says and I am already dreading the night to come.
