   "Look Maya I know we're suppose to be spending our first college break together but I can finally meet Lucas's mom this will be such a big step" Riley pleaded putting on her puppy eyes. Yeah and she said we was gonna have a amazing experience together at college.

"You know what go, I have to work on my extra credit project anyways" I sighed rolling my eyes. Actually this can be a good way for me to focus on my self and not a certain someone.

   " Maya don't be mad at me. This is just such a good opportunity for me to make a good impression." She kisses my cheeks and wipes the strands of hair from my face. It is what it is I'm used to her anyways ditching me for her knight. She swore up and down him following us to college was gonna be the best thing for our little trip but it's more so the best thing for them.

"It's fine Riley!" I loosened away from her rather strong grip and let out a rather pathetic laugh. "This is a great opportunity for you and as your best friend I wouldn't want you to miss it." The last part was at least true, I wouldn't want her to miss any good opportunity that could potentially help her or make her happy.

  "This is why I love you Maya!", she squeals as she pushes open our door to the dorm room. "You're always so understanding." She tosses in a few textbooks into her suitcase as she mumbles about how she's gonna spend quality time with Lucas' mom. Just great.

She immediately starts gathering things for her trip which she supposed to leave for tonight.

"Well while y'all are up there at least try and have sex." I let out a laugh crashing unto the bed as her tan face turns a light shade of pink.

" I can't thank you enough Maya!" Riley grins for like the 100th time in the last minute. Lucas gives the door a knock as he walks into the room and automatically picks up Riley's luggage.

"The cab is waiting downstairs, don't worry Maya I'll take care of her." Lucas gives me a boyish but innocent grin. He had on his favorite accessory; his infamous cowboy hat.

With a thousand more hugs from Riley and might I add a hundred groans from Lucas. They finally get into their cab not wanting to miss their flight. I watched as their cab split the corner before walking back into the dorm.

I take a deep breath as I turn over a new white, clean page of landscape paper. The sweet sound of silence. Exactly what I need in order to come up with inspiration for my next painting.

  "Which color do you prefer black or red?" I hear a voice contemplates jogging into the room. Many dresses that we covered in thin clear paper were placed on the bed.

"Ugh no!" I groan as my friend Rosie lets a blue duffel bag crash into the floor. "I'm busy for the rest of the night and for the rest of the break entirely." I turn back in my chair and try to ignore her ... unsuccessfully.

   "We're going to the biggest party of the quarter. It's the first day of our break and what better way to spend it other than getting drunk." She gives me a peachy grin.

"Rosie no!" I stare at her, trying very hard to make her change her mind. With her grin getting wider and scarier by the second I cracked and let her do her victory dance. Rosie was the total opposite of Riley which is a blessing because I certainly don't need two Rileys. With a determination and a grin that makes girls shrinks Rosie was even unexpected. From her strawberry-red hair to her knee high boots, Rosie was rather crazy. She adventured in trouble, she was always at every party scene. A party life I rather leave behind and buried.

"There will be hot guys and drinks and c'mon it won't kill you to have fun and let loose for the night." She grumbled, picking me up from my chair. Giving me a few looks she digs into her bag.
