Chapter 7

Josh P.O.V

I pick up the perfectly sharpened number 2 pencil, I swirl it around my fingers rapidly.

"You know Josh the paper isn't going to finish itself"my roommate Anthony smiles. "This is about Maya right".  Ugh why did I tell him what happened...maybe because my dumb ass got drunk so I vented.

"I don't want to talk about it"I grit my teeth.

"Look you've been acting like a real dick for the last couple of days..you know what im going to tell you what I think"he positions himself on his messy bed. "You love her..your in love Josh and you messed up bad..very bad".

"Instead of being with her..you left her and tried to convince yourself you didn't love her anymore which was a stupid thing to do...because you're an idiot Josh"he crosses his arms.

"There's no going back".

"Stop saying that because Maya is going to fall in love with someone else and that person isn't going to be you this time.

"Our family"I whisper turning back to my desk.

"Josh I know your family, your family loves you and will do anything for you, I mean anything. They'll forgive you both..eventually but for now stand together"he gets up.

"How will I find her, she practically blocked my number".

"I know someone".

"Meet Randy, Randy is a hacker/coder/and programmer, he'll track her phone"Anthony smiles introducing his friend.

I nod my head tossing him my phone.

Randy looks like he was in high school. He has vibrant red hair with tons of freckles on his face. He has on a white t-shirt with what's the difference between a football player and a nerd on the front.

His hands flew across the keyboard. "Gotcha". "The phone is at Central Park". "Thanks Randy, this is pretty cool, I owe you one"I pat him on the back.

"Oh wait Josh"Anthony calls out.

I quickly glance at him.

"Don't forget the flowers"he winks as I close the door.

Maya P.O.V.

  I found a bench that was far from commotion. You know desperate girls trying to watch boys play basketball even thought they paid them no mind.

I pulled out my sketch book and glanced around the park. There wasn't a damn thing to paint. My art project is due on Monday and I haven't painted one thing except the stupid heart Josh made. I pulled out a pencil and began to dabble.

"Maya"a voice yelled. I looked up and there was Josh, he had...roses in his hand.

"Look please don't get up or say anything..I don't even know how I should start there's so much I need to tell you"he speaks sitting next to me.

"I love you Maya..and I've been acting like a dick. I really have been I tried to convince myself I didn't love you and I didn't care about you when truth is your the person I think about all the time. I obsessively thought about you when I was in my first year on college, I couldn't relax when I was near or away from you. My hands would really start to shake and then my stomach would clench. The first time we kissed I knew I wanted us to be something more than boyfriend and girlfriend. I want you Maya Hart and I still do. I was scared..so I ran away from you..I started to be someone im not and im sorry for that. I'm most importantly sorry for abandoning you, I don't give a shit if our families don't like us together. "Please forgive me"he smiles.

Tears start to roll down my face. "Joshua Matthews I never wanted you to see me cry"I cover my face with my hands. "I never want to either" he removes them gently. I capture his face in my palms. "I love you so much Josh"I say before kissing him.

"Maya"a voice says. Noooo our moment is going to be ruined. "Maya"the voice says getting closer.

It was Brian's.

"Maya are you okay"he asks walking over to us. He glanced at the roses and Josh's hand that was circled around my waist.

"Maya whose this"Josh gets up.

"This is my close friend Brian..he's just a friend and Brian this is Josh-"

"Her boyfriend"he interrupts. Is he really jealous.

"Maya are you coming back to the apartment"he smiles catching on to what happened.

Josh head snaps to mine. I ignore his glance and respond "Uh no, I'll be fine but i'll come by for my dress"I stand up giving him a hug.

Josh suddenly coughs loudly causing birds to fly up. He winks and waves before turning around.

"Who was that"he points in the direction Brian left in.

"Brian and he's just a friend, I stayed at his place during everything"I sit back down.

"Did anything happen between you two"his eyebrows furrow.

"Yea, but just a kiss" I smile picking up one of the roses.

"I'm going to kill him"he turns around. I catch him by his sleeve and pull him down. " I love you and only you..so stop acting like a dick and kiss me"I smile .
