Chapter 1
I never knew it, but this was going to turn out to be the best summer of my life. My name is Ashlyn Crain and Im 16. I have long blonde hair and a pretty good tan. Im not like super self conscious like msot girls here. I look just fine to me.
Most of my family lives up near New York. I move from family member to family member all around the states, I currently live with my grandparents.
I know your asking why I don't live with my parents so I will tell you, both of my parents are stationed overseas. I skype them every night though, if their not working in the medical clinic or out in training.
My grandparents are pretty giving if you ask me. They took me in after my parents left. My grandma is awesome she has a very kind heart and makes a mean cheesecake. My grandpa is okay I guess but he has a really bad temper. They live on a farm which i'm currently working on, my father insist me helping them out.
I like having all these animals around, cause I don't have any friends. My grandparents neighborhood is full of old people who are cranky and rude. I hope I make some friends with the new neighbors moving in. They look like they got kids cause they have a lot of boxes marked TOYS.
Next thing I know i'm called downstairs by my nana (my grandma)." Ashley hun come meet the new neighbors!" I ran as quick as I could down the winding stairs trying to get to the door. I had my hair in a fishtail braid and my brand new overalls with a lime green tank on, and my black ballet flats.
The people that I saw looked like they came out of a magazine.
I just stood their taking in the 5 bright and cheery faces. They looked so nice!
