*Ember's POV*
"What the hell are you doing?" James calls up to me.
I'm currently straddling a branch at the top of a very tall tree, "sorting out the rope," I shout back down to him.
The bark begins to hurt my thighs as it rubs against my skin, I'm only wearing a swimming costume and so as I look down I notice that my inner thighs are bright red, I cringe at the sight but continue to untie the knot that keeps the rope in place.
"Hurry up!" Lily yells growing impatient.
I finally get the rope off and slowly move myself back so that the rope will be closer to the bank, "did you have the lady balls to get up here and untie the rope?"
She looks up at me her eyebrows raised but her mouth stays closed, "yeah I thought not," I grin to myself as I tie a new knot to keep the rope in place before I carefully climb back down.
"Can I go first?" Lily asks jumping up and down all excited, "please?"
I shake my head with a smile and she takes it as a yes. She races forward grabbing the rope with both hands before throwing herself off the bank, she hangs in mid air for a second before letting go of the rope and falling straight down into the water creating a big splash.
She surfaces from under the water with a huge grin on her face, it's a hot day and so we had decided to come down to the nearby stream after we had finished our classes to cool off.
James is next to swing from the rope and let's go just in time so that he enters the water right next to Lily splashing her right in the face. I laugh wildly as I catch the rope, looking at my two best friends as Lily scolds him.
I wrap my body around the rope before running forward and off the bank, I enjoy the feeling of the breeze blowing through my hair before I allow myself to fall a little further away from Lily and James.
The water feels heavenly on my skin as I open my eyes whilst I'm under the water, the stream isn't too deep but I still like to swim under the water from time to time.
I stay under deciding to swim to a nearby rock, once I reach it I push my body up and out of the water sitting on it.
"Why do you have to do that every time?" Lily squeals as she swims over to me, "you scare the shit out of me when you don't surface!"
I roll my eyes at her panicking state, "well if I do it every time then you should expect it by now," I say sticking my tongue out as I get back into the water, "plus its not like I can't swim is it?"
She pouts for a second before I swim over to her and with both index fingers poke at her cheeks making it look like she's some sort of fish, I giggle wishing that my phone was waterproof so I could take a picture. Guess I'll just have to do the same thing again later once we're all dry.
"Well I'm sorry for being a concerned friend," she fakes a sad tone to her voice but I can see straight through it.
"Oh shut up!" I splash some water in her face and then take of doing something between a run and a swim at the same time. I know that she'll pay me back for that splash and so I need the head start against her.
I make it to the bank and am just about to haul myself up and out of the water when a pair of hands grip my waist and pull me back under the water, I fight against them until I eventually surface gasping for air as I hear both Lily and James laughing their asses off.
