First Kiss...Manuel

His team had just lost a major game in which he conceded two goals. You couldn't make the game, but as soon as you heard the score you texted your best friend and invited him over. He arrived at your house at around 10 PM, engulfing you in a massive hug as he stepped through your front door. You pulled away slowly, grabbing both of this hands, looking into his teary eyes and whispering : "Hello Manu." He just smiled sadly. You walked him deeper into your home,never letting go of his left hand, until you reached your living-room sofa. The room was only lit up by a lamp in the corner of the room, creating just enough light for you to see Manuel's broken expression. You sat in comfortable silence for a few moments before he turned to face you and spoke up: "I let them down, Y/N. I messed up." You knew he'd be like this. Manuel has always been very selfless, and with him being relatively new to playing this competitively you knew he'd beat himself up over any loss.
"Don't say that. You played well, they were tough opponents and I'm incredibly proud of you. This is only the start, but I will always be here waiting for you no matter the score." You smiled and placed your hand on his cheek, wiping away the still flowing tears: "Please don't cry, Manu." You couldn't help but think about how beautiful he looked, even with his tear stained face. You loved Manuel and just wanted to take away his suffering, so without giving it much thought you lent forward and planted a soft kiss on his swollen lips. He looked at you in shock: "Y/N, don't kiss me out of pity. I know you don't want me to be upset, but don't mess with my emotions just to cheer me up." You panicked at the misunderstanding you caused: "I'm sorry for kissing you, but I didn't do it out of pity. Seeing you like this deeply hurts me and I guess it made me realise just how much you mean to me." Your explanation caused him to grin and then quickly peck your lips; your goof was back.
