ADRIAN POV

I adjusted my collar as the rest of the choir warmed up. This was it. Our first concert in 8th grade. I turned around to my friend Hayden as he watched the door in aw.

"Hayden?" I question. I turned my head to see what he was staring at and I too found myself staring.

There she was. Her short dark hair waving slightly in front of her face, her dimpled smile lighting up the room, and her brown eyes meeting mine.

"Adee!"she called, skipping over to me. Now its not what you think.

She isnt my girlfriend. Or my "crush". She is my best friend.

She stopped in front of me and giggled, flatting the wrinkles in my sleeve.

"Wow you actually clean up quite nicely" she teased, running her fingers through her hair. I looked her up and down putting my fingers to my chin.

"I could say the same to you" She really looked good in her black choir dress, it complemented her very well. She took a deep breath as she looked at the time then back at me.

"Its time to go on stage," she placed her hand on my shoulder. "Go sing like no one can here you, good luck on your solo"

That night I sang for her. I made sure she heard me.

Did you hear me, Cassandra?
