Chapter 17: How. Awkward. That. Was.

(NIALL'S POINT OF VIEW)

The muscles in my cheeks were practically forever formed into a frown. I was constantly sad, except when in public or performing.

The only reason? Avery.

She tore my heart out, and hasn't said a word to me since. It's been a month. We've been separated a month.

Maybe it's time to bring back at LEAST a friendship..

Or maybe not.. Maybe she's still pissed off at me?

The least I can do is try.

I woke up the morning of an interview day and showered and got dressed. I just threw on a polo, sculpted my hair, and ran out the door. Thank goodness I wasn't late.

"Niall! Finally here. Are you ready for your interview today?"

"Yeah. Bring it."

We would be going back to an interviewer we had gone to before. They hopefully have better questions this time.

*

We arrived and they brought us in right away. They put some makeup and mics on us and then we went out. The applause was crazy.

"Boys! Hello! Can we have an amazing warm welcome for the boys of One Direction?"

Applause exploded again.

"Oh-Kay! Let's get started!"

The interviewer went down the line of us and asked us each a question. Basic ones first like about he tour and such. Then, she got more personal.

Shit.

The question came to me and she asked about my touchiest subject. Avery.

"So Niall, how is your LOVELY girlfriend??"

"Um, can we maybe stay away from that subject? He, they, well.. They're not together anymore." Harry said for me.

"Oh! Well, what happened to you guys?!!"

"Can we please not talk about her, it's still a touchy subject. Please.." I said to the interviewer.

"Oh alright! I'll let it go. But I'm betting that the audience is going to want an answer!"

At that moment, Harry stood up and walked over to her. He whispered something to her and she nodded. She obviously understood.

Thank The Lord.

***

Later that night, we were exhausted. We had been songwriting all day and I was depressed once again. That interviewer was horrid. She wouldn't drop the subject.

Avery. My mind was back on her. I felt like I needed to talk to her. I needed to see how she was doing. I decided to get on Facebook and message her.

I went I got the app on my phone and clicked her name in the sidebar.

Now what to say..

'Avery, can we talk?'

After a few minutes, I received a reply.
