By the time i knew it it was 5:00pm and my mom had planned a special dinner with our new neighbors. I wanted to wear something sexy to dinner in case the neighbor was cute but all i knew was that he had a three year old daughter and no other family. After getting dressed into a cute tight outfit i came downstairs, sat on the couch and just started scrolling through instagram. All of a sudden the doorbell rang. ＤＩＮＧ ＤＯＮＧ... as my dad opened the door i was shocked to see it was my teacher Mr Landon i greeted him with a handshake and then my dad asked....
dad: do you 2 know each other
Me: um... yeah well.. yes he is my english teacher
dad: is she doing well in school, Mathew? ( mathew is Mr Landon's first name)
Mr Landon: she isnt the best student but she is definitely progressing.
i wanted to shout at him but then when i heard him say i was progressing i couldn't help but let out a little blush, then before i knew it my body turned hot and my cheeks were as red as tomatoes. Mr Landon introduced his daughter Kira she was adorable and kept telling me i was pretty. Then i wondered what must of happened to the rest of his family. i told my mum i was going to go outside and get some fresh air.
Mum: ok sweetie just be back inside in 10 minutes.
i went outside and had a smoke which only lasted for 7 minutes or something and then started thinking about how young Mr Landon was to have a daughter. I better go back inside i thought to myself.
Mr Landon: Um...Isabelle
Me: shit.. Mr Landon you scared me don't do that
Mr Landon: sorry.. i just wanted to say that i am sorry if this is allot for you to take in
Me: um well i don't mind you being my neighbor it is just i had no idea you had a daughter, if you don't mind me asking, what happened to your wife?
Mr Landon: well it isnt very easy to open up about this but you should have the right to know.
Me: go on you can tell me i won't tell a soul
Mr Landon: ok so three years ago when my wife Jennifer gave birth to Kira she didn't make it...
Me: what do you mean
Mr Landon: SHE DIED OK.. AND KIRA DOESNT HAVE ANY GRANDPARENTS EITHER！
Me: Mr Landon calm down you are scaring me
Mr Landon: *starts crying* I am so sorry it's just i am very stressed trying to take care of kira and when Kira said you were pretty i definitely agreed with her. *blush*
Me: i am so sorry i am dumb for asking in the first place.
Mr Landon: you're not dumb don't say that in fact i think you are very intelligent
Mr Landon leaned in for a kiss i wasn't sure what to do i had mixed emotions it felt like we were the only two people left in the world, UNTIL..
Mom: Mathew, Isabelle, please come inside dinner is ready.
