The boy froze as he stood at the edge of the bridge looking down at the ocean. Everything around stopped. Several police cars were on the scene.
Jump, you'll do us all a favor
The small boy smiled as he let his tears fall. His friends....family....peers even were watching.
He closed his eyes as a memory came.
"Mommy?"
"Yes, child?"
"How deep is the ocean?"
The mother chuckled.
"I don't know, child. Very deep I believe."
"Do you love me?"
"Of course, my child."
She pulled her child into a warm embrace.
The boy opened his eyes and let the memory fade. He turned back to his mother.
"Mom?"
"Yes, child?"
"How deep is the ocean?"
The mother froze as police lights and sirens went off.
"I'm not sure..."
The boy smiled weakly, the last smile he would ever give.
"Do you love me?"
"Of course, my child."
He stared at her for a bit, the wind starting to pick up as the boy stood on the ledge.
"I'm going to find out how deep the ocean is."
"Child don't!"

The boy looked up at his Mother as he fell from the bridge.
"Somebody save my baby!" She yelled out.
The boy closed his eyes so he would no longer see her.
