Imagine your body being pulled along the ocean sea bed at a decently fast speed; That's drift diving: using the ocean currents to drift along underwater. Drift diving is probably my favourite type of diving; you don't have to put in any effort to move because the current just carries you along with it!
Of course, you have to be careful to not get sucked away. Occasionally you stop by holding onto some sort of rock or hard coral.
One of the many drift dives I did was at Crystal bay in Nusa Penida, Bali. It was truly relaxing. And the best part about drift diving, apart from the lack of effort required, is that you see millions of fish!
On the boat, I geared up, getting ready to do a backward roll into the water. There were any waves at all, just still, crystal blue water.
Once I was in the water, I slowly descended to the bottom. I could feel the current pushing against me in a rhythmic throb.
As I drifted by, I saw so many tiny little fish swim by, and lots of pretty coral.
It was truly a relaxing dive! Especially since I had already done 2 dives before that were quite tiring, this one eased my mind and body!
