Jacob was sat by Connie's bedside she was now sedated, after the ambulance had taken her the the ED,it was apart that Connie's body was failing her because of its lack in nutrients given. She was quickly sedated and then chemicals were bumped through her tiny frame to help her body get back to normally and to try and speedily make up for the nutrients that the her body had been declined of for such a scary period of time.
Dr Carl Lamia walked in interrupting Jacobs dark thoughts. Carl and Jacob have worked together in the past so they know each other quite well.
"Jacob" he said gently Jacob stood up rapidly.
"Is she alright Carl what did her bloods tell you?" Jacob said in a panicky tone.
"She definitely is anorexia you can tell by her levels and her body shape at the moment your suspicions were right".
Jacob sat back down his head in his hands he was so upset that he was right that Connie was anorexia. He really hadn't wanted this dangerous heartbreaking fact to be true, Connie must've been in so much pain.
"How long do you reckon she's been you know doing it". Jacob sadly said. He knew Carl would definitely give him a fairly accurate estimate this was his specialty after all.
"Probably about eight months Jacob" Carl said 'Though that might not be accurate, that's what I think based on her test results.
Tears welled up in Jacobs eyes "How am I going to look after her Carl she isn't mentally or physically stable I don't know how to look after her".
Carl took a deep breath he knew that Connie's condition would be hard to live with Jacobs was right they didn't know how to look after her every case was individual after all.
"You will have to find a way Jacob you need to for her sake you have to stay strong you can't let her see you break down at any point.
"I know Carl I know" Jacob said.
"Jacob" Carl said trying to stay as professional as possible 'We are going to keep Connie sedated for a few weeks so we can have a feeding tube in her she has it in now and it's best if we keep it in so we can get some well needed nutrients into her body'.
"Why does she have to kept sedated?" Jacob asked.
"Because if she's finds out that she's being feed she might rip the tube out and do herself more harm" Carl explained.
"Oh right, okay" Jacob replied.
