And this really couldn't be called an awkward club without an awkward thread. It would be tantamount to treason. So to get this awkward thread on a roll, lemme tell you a tale about your auntie Felicity that still makes me cringe to this day.
At the beginning of youth group, we have about 3 minutes to get up and talk to people or introduce yourself. Now what my youth group also does is that they have a mingle challenge for people to do (which is usually along the lines of "hi-five 4 people" or something). The mingle challenge for that day was to compliment anyone wearing blue, and I was wearing blue.
This one girl walked up to me and basically said, "Oh, you look really nice today!"
She was wearing blue too, so it was my turn to compliment her.
But my brain shut off and decided to make my mouth stutter.
"Oh, yeah- yeah, I really like your singing. You sing really good. Your voice is really nice."
I repeated the same thing three different times. I turned into a broken thesaurus record. And then I said it all in a jittery voice that probably made her think that I had some sort of a crush on her. (Which I don't)
She then smiled at me weirdly and walked away slowly. I laughed when I found this meme online because it looked somewhat similar to the look that this girl gave me as she was walking away:
