Instead of getting on the bus and going home I decided to go into town. Something about North Dakota brings a very foggy creepy yet cold description of the town. You rarely see people in town- let alone in the street. Its almost creepy, but the people here are very lovely. As I walk through the creepy town I stop by an old antique store. I don't know why, but I find old stuff cool. The antique store is called Out with the New and in with the Old. I look around- I haven't seen the store owner yet;but I'm pretty sure they are somewhere out back stacking stuff on the shelves. Then I hear a familiar voice, one that I know well. I try to get close to hear what the person was saying. "Of course I will" the guy says. I try to make out the rest of the sentence...this sucks I can't hear what he is saying well enough. A raspy voice behind startles me, "Your Jack's friend...right"? I turn around and accidentally bump into a table with a frame. It's the weird guy that Jack was talking too outside. "Yes, I am" I manage to say. "I rarely get to meet his friends- let alone a girl". What does he mean? He eyes me up and down, his look gives me goose bumps. I didn't like how he was looking at me. "Well I rarely get to meet any friends of his" I say. The guy gives me a half smile and says, "I'm not his friend, I'm his uncle". Oh well that's worse then being a friend. I nod and slowly move away from him. When I look beside me I see Jack. He smiles when he sees, but stops as soon as he sees his uncle in front of me. "Hey what are you doing here Tom" he ask? His uncle hugs him, "I'm glad I came I got to meet your girlfriend". Girlfriend! I doubt that Jack and I would be a couple, but I do have to say I like that title. "She is my friend" Jack says moving out of his arm. "Yeah and she is a girl" he eyes me again. I get goose bumps again- Jack gets in front of me "Tom I'll meet you back in the Storage room". Tom chuckles "Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend". "Enough games- we aren't friends...I told you that". We aren't? That hurts, I want to punch him really bad. "Of course" as Tom is leaving he says to me "Nice meeting you anyways". "Like wise" I say. Jack turns around and leads me to the register. "Sorry about that, but I think it's best that you go". "I came to look around- didn't know that you work here". "No does, but I guess now your the only one". I take a good look at him, his hair is messy and flipped to one side, his blue eyes look tired, and his arm is inked up with tattoos. "I think this is the first time I've seen tattoos on you". He quickly pulls his long sleeves down. I just realized that school he always wears long sleeves. Something about him makes me want to actually be his friend. "You weren't meant to see that too- I guess your finding everything out today" he says coldly at me. "I...I'm sorry" I stuttered. Why am I apologizing to him, I just came to look around? "Just leave" he says sharply. Ugh I want to argue back with him, but I guess it's better to leave. Don't want to make things worse. Without talking to him or looking back, I do.
