I go downstairs to the kitchen, and smell the grease in the air. My mom is hovering over the stove I can't see what she's cooking, but by the smell of it, it's bacon. "Hey Sweetie, today is a big day so you have to have a whole hearty breakfast" she says excitedly. She keeps talking, but I don't pay attention because I'm still thinking about the girl in the mirror. A shudder passes through my body.

"Grace!" My mom is standing right in front of me holding a plate of eggs, bacon, and a slice of toasted bread. I grab the plate reluctantly. "Are you okay? You seem a bit shaken up" she stares at me with worried eyes.

"Oh I'm fine, I'm just a little nervous about the game" I try to give her a reassuring smile. I don't think she bought it because there's skepticism on her face. I sit at the dining table and start eating my food.

This morning when I looked at myself in the mirror I saw this girl who looked exactly like me, but completely different from me. I looked sad and tired, it's kind of the look I get when I lose a game...defeated. My hair was gathered in a messy bun, and my eyes were irritated like I was crying for a long time. Even if the girl in the mirror looked like she was going through a rough time she still managed to looked beautiful. I try to get the haunting image of her out of my head, but she still manages to sneak in.

"Don't worry, you guys will win tonight!" My mom tries to reassure me.

"I know, thanks Mom" I finish my food, and clean my dishes.

Honk! That must be my friend, Jess.
"Mom I gotta go, bye love you"

"Love you too, Sweety!" She says quickly while I rush out the door.
