Previously: Never in our wildest imaginations would we think anything horrible would happen to our Pack the next day.

But something did happen.

Anastasia

Screams woke Frankie and I up the next morning, my mother burst open the door screaming at us to get up. "Ana! Frankie! Quickly, get up!" We shot up, suddenly awake and sober, and heard the growls, blood gurgling screams, and yelps going on outside. "Ana, your brother needs you to round up some children. Frankie, I need your help evacuating kids and the elderly. C'mon, let's go!"

I quickly grabbed Frankie's pocket knife from his top drawer and jumped out the open window and searched around the Pack's village and forest area. I dodged all the werewolves running and slit the throats of any attackers now I'm almost covered head to toe in blood but I didn't care as I followed the sounds of whimpering children through the thick forest and soon I found three kids huddled inside a hollowed tree. "Ana!" called out the oldest one.

"Come on, kids," I urged, looking around to see if there were any wolves and as soon as I knew it was clear I guided the kids back to the Pack's village and fought off attackers as I lead the kids through the flying wolves, splattering pools of blood and found Frankie and my mother guiding kids and the elderly into a hidden trap door and I shoved the kids towards my mother and quickly turned around just in time to stab an oncoming werewolf which tried to jump at me. It yelped and pounced away as Frankie called to me. I turned around. "What?!"

"A 4 year old boy got freaked out and ran inside the Alpha's house! Go get him, mom and I gotta get these people inside!"

I nodded my head and ran towards my brother's house, busting open the door and I searched down stairs frantically before heading upstairs and opened every door I could, searching for this poor boy who is probably terrified. "Hello? Are you here, kid?" I called, searching the last room upstairs and there I heard crying. It was my brothers office area and I looked behind is desk and under it a little boy with blood on his shoes, sobbing and whimpering for his mother. "Hey, it's okay. I'm gonna take you somewhere safe." I held out my hand to him but he shook his head and huddled closer under the desk. I frowned and I tried to urged him closer but again he shook his head no. I looked at him questionably, "Why?"

The boy looked at me with wide, terrified eyes. "B-b-because he's h-here."

"Who's he?" I asked quietly, suddenly feeling horrible chills down my spine as the little boy pointed behind me. I soon felt someone behind me, a presence looming over me and I knew I had to do something quick to get this kid out of here. I mindlinked Frankie. Frankie! I need help, quick!

Where are you?

I'm inside my brother's office and I need to throw this kid out the window on the right, facing the forest. Get to the window. Now! I'll trust you'll be there. I cut the connection and moved towards to little boy, smiling. "Hey, it's gonna be okay. What's your name, sweetheart?"

"B-Brandon," he stuttered.

"Hi, Brandon, it's nice to meet you. Can you do me a favour, sweetie?" I cooed. He nodded. "I need you to squeeze yourself into a little ball for me. Can you do that?" The boy nodded swiftly and crawled into my arms, almost crushing my throat. I picked him up and stood up carefully and, slowly turning around,  I faced my potential attacker and it was like time just froze, my heart was now in my throat and my wolf howled in delight but my soul twisted with disgust. Mate, my wolf sighed happily. He's our mate.

I was lost in thought for a moment before I snapped out of it when the boy in my arms whimpered. I quickly glanced at him as I cuddled him closer and then flickered my eyes to the window - thank the Goddess, it's open. I stepped closer to the window and he followed. I had to act fast. I ran to the window, feeling him right behind me and I quickly tossed the boy out the window. I had to have faith that Frankie was there, ready to catch him. I glanced out the window just in time to see Frankie run off with the boy before a giant hand grabbed me from behind and pulled me away, my face hitting my brother's desk. I grunted as I stood up and grabbed the pocket knife I'd hidden. I posed, knife in hand, ready to strike should he attack. I finally got a good look at him. He was tall - and I mean fucking tall, a good six foot seven, I'm guessing. He was built like a fucking house, he was so muscular. Like a pro wrestler but taller and more terrifying. He had battle scars all over is hot - I mean, defined body and he had short dark hair and burning red eyes. "You're the Alpha," I guessed and he smirked.

"Look at that, smart and feisty," his voice was deep and rough and it sent butterflies dancing through my body. Before I could move he was suddenly in front of me, my knife gone and both my hands were restrained in his one big hand. I was breathing deeply now but kept my face in a scowl so he wouldn't know how utterly terrified I was. I stared into his eyes, ignoring my wolf's desire to drag him to the floor and fuck him stupid. He was the Alpha of the pack who was attacking my pack, my friends and family. "You're coming with me," he stated bluntly.

"What? No! I'm not going anywhere with you!"

He tightened his grip and I flinched. "Yes, you are. I cannot leave you here."

Looking into his blood red eyes I could tell I wasn't going to win and I knew that even if I resist he'd still take me. So...why not have some good come out of it? "Make them stop." He raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Call off your pack, stop the attacks, and I'll go with you willingly. Please, just stop this bloodshed."

He looked at me for a long time, his eyes gazing all over me, it even felt like he was gazing into my soul. Finally he spoke and I knew then my life would never be the same. "My pack is retreating. Now let's go."
