“Damn… It’s so hot in here.” Brendon sighed as he fanned himself. He was laying on the edge of the couch with his legs crossed and hanging off the side. His head was laying in the elf’s lap.

Dallon’s lips turned up into a smirk. “It’s just because I’m here.”

“Oh, don’t get all cocky on me!” Brendon chuckled and reached back to lightly slapped Dallon’s knee.

Dallon just scrunched up his face and wetted his lips. He tried to move and get comfortable once again but shocks of pain shot up his chest the second that he moved. “B-bren… move please…” Brendon wasn’t causing him pain but he still needed his space.

Brendon frowned as he heard the elf groan under his breath. “Be careful…” He whispered softly.

“I am trying…” The elf sighed, feeling helpless.

Brendon sat up and decided to sit properly on the couch and leaned over to caress his face. “Want to try and go back to sleep?”

Dallon blushed at just the simple touch. “Maybe…”

The prince nodded. “You really need it. Sleep heals, ya’ know?”

“You don’t care right?” The elf yawned and tucked his semi-long hair behind his ears. “Wouldn’t matter if I fell asleep on you?” He copied what Brendon did earlier and he moved to lay his head on the prince’s lap.

“Oh course I don’t care.” Brendon smiled and gently combed his fingers through Dallon’s hair. “Go to sleep. Oh and I took your dagger… I just wanted to tell you. You shouldn’t have it right now. I didn’t want you to roll over on it and hurt yourself.” He leaned down and kissed his head gently. Dallon stared up at him for a while, studying his facial features before he tried his best to curl up. His long legs made it almost impossible to get comfortable. That was another thing he hated about himself. He hated how tall he was. Stereotypical elves were short but he was odd. Brendon was humming and he whispered an ‘I love you’ in there, but very quietly… Almost inaudible.  He was getting a lot of joy in comforting the elf. Dallon was so worn out and uncomfortable. Everything hurt, but it felt nice on his body, just being held and being treated so gently.

Jordan had picked up on Dallon’s blood scent. So he followed it. There was monster in his eyes as he looked. He craved more blood. He wanted his ‘older’ brother dead. He wanted him dead for reasons that he couldn’t tell. If the word got out, it could change their whole lives. He had come across these secrets when he was snooping through the letters. One addressed to Dallon read something that Jordan was not very happy to see. It was from a faraway kingdom that he had never heard of before, and he disagreed with what it had to say. The only way for him to be okay with what that letter said was to kill Dallon, his own brother that he’s always hated anyway. It wouldn’t be too hard for him to do. He’d known about the letter for quite some time now. But he never took action until he found out that his brother was having an affair with a human. He was mad because of the writing but the affair was the last straw. He was going to find his brother and he was going to destroy him.  Jordan could feel himself drawing closer to his brother. Every step made him smile just a bit more evilly. “Ah,” he sighed. “The things I am going to do to that little twat! He is already disgusting!” He yelled at nothing in particular. “Now breaking the rules and sneaking off with a human? He is a disgrace.”

Early the next morning, Brendon shifted out from underneath Dallon. He went out to the old stables and dug through his saddlebags to find some food for his horse. He gave her a few apples before he returned to the ‘get away’ house as he was going to start calling it. When he went inside the living room he got scared. That’s where Dallon was when he left but now he was gone. But he did find the elf back in the bedroom. He was naked and sitting on the bed, humming to himself as he checked out his wounds. Brendon scared him when he walked in and he jumped, causing more pain to shoot through his body.  He was also embarrassed and grabbed his clothes off the bed. They were all bloody however.
