Bucky slept well tonight with Tony in his arms. They didn't go as far as to having sex but they were more than okay with that. Tony woke up first, feeling oddly calm instead of anxious. He listened to Winter's breathing and slowly traced the shape of his lips. His lips still have a tingling sensation from kissing him last night.
Bucky's eyes flutter open when he feels Tony's cold finger on his lips. He smiles lazily,
"Good morning," Tony whispers.
"Never thought you'd be the type of person to say that in the mornings," Bucky says.
"Do I really come out that cold?"
Bucky holds back a smile. "Aren't all billionaires cold and selfish?"
"Rude," Tony says, smiling. This feels strange. He's gotten used to being hostile and distant towards the soldier and now that he's letting out his feelings, he's not quite sure how to do that. He guessed saying good morning was a good start.
A knock is heard. "Bucky? Breakfast is ready. We have a very important meeting today. Hurry."
"I'll be there in a bit," Bucky calls out. He expects his blond friend to leave but when he sees the doorknob twisting, Tony jumps out of bed. They can't have Steve witness this. Not now. Shit shit shit.
"Under the bed," Bucky whispers and Tony crawls under the bed just in time before Steve opens the door.
"You okay? How are you holding up?" Steve asks
"I'm fine. Never been better," Bucky replies, noticing just how jolly he sounds. He clears his throat. "I mean, I got a good night sleep."
Steve hesitates before answering. "No crying last night?"
Bucky shakes his head. "No nightmares. I'm sorry Steve. For the way acted with you. I didn't mean to snap."
Steve looks down as if were ready to cry, but Captain America doesn't do that. He places a hand on his hip and looks up. "I know, pal. I shouldn't have pushed you. I'm sorry."
Bucky purses his lips before shaking his head again. "I know you just want to help and I want to let you know that I appreciate it."
Steve nods and tilts his head. "It's him, isn't it?"
Bucky draws in his eyebrows. "Him?"
"Tony. Living here just doesn't help, does it? Bucky, we can take you to Wakanda. We can take you somewhere else like-'''
"No!" Bucky's voice raises an octave, eyes wide.
"No?" Steve flinches at being yelled at but he only steps closer in concern of his friend.
"I-I mean, it's ok. I like it here. Tony doesn't bother me."
"But I just...I mean, we had a literal battle over everything and being around Tony-"
"Is more than ok," Bucky finishes, bring back his voice to a normal range. "How will I ever heal if we can't sort out our differences, right?"
Steve gives a hesitant nod, clearly worried about Bucky. Instead of pressing further he shrugs. "Well, uh, alright then. We need to leave in ten minutes."
"I'll be ready in five," Bucky as he searches for a clean shirt.
"Sounds good."
When Steve is gone, Bucky hears Tony squirming away from under the bed. "Coast clear?"
"Affirmative." Bucky bends down to pick up some pants and in that moment, he feels a pair of hands on his hips behind him. Bucky stands up and hums when Tony begins kissing his neck. His hair is scrunched up for more access of skin.
"We have so much fighting to make up for, Winter."
Bucky closes his eyes and enjoys the billionaire's mouth sucking on his skin, marking him. Something he never thought Tony Stark would do. He shudders and all he can do is lean back so their bodies are against each others.
"Oh, we will. We'll make lots of it up."
Bucky is turned around and brought against the wall this time. Tony's scent is intoxicating and Bucky wants to breathe it in for as long as he can.
Bucky wasn't ready in five.
