My phone started ringing in my pocket. I pulled it out and pressed the answer button. "Yo!" I answered. Dad chuckled. "How's life in Mystic Falls?" He asked. "It's not entirely bad, but I miss you and New York." I said. "I know, it'll take time to adjust from a big city to a small town, but your mother missed you." Dad said. "Yeah." I muttered. "I gotta go, sweetie, but I'll talk to you later." Dad promised. "Bye, Daddy." I said. "Bye." He said and hung up. "Dad calling to check in?" Caroline guessed as I slid my phone back in my pocket. "Yeah. He said I'll need time to 'adjust'. He forgets that I used to live here." I said.
"Well, you're his baby. His best friend. Of course, he's gonna worry about you." Caroline said. "Yeah, you're right." I nodded. "Aren't I always?" Caroline joked, flipping her hair. "Hey, Pari, come meet my boyfriend." Elena said. "Ooh!" I smiled, jumping up. I clapped my hands excitedly, acting like a 2 year old. "Come on." Elena said, shaking her head in embarrassment.
She linked my arm with hers and pulled me past the man who asked Caroline to have a drink with her. "Will you tell me who that man was? The one who asked Caroline to have a drink?" I whispered. "That's Klaus. A cocky, arrogant, sadistic assho-" "Okay! I get it." I cut her off.
She led me to the bar where a man with sandy brown hair, icy blue eyes, and pale-ish skin sat. "Hey, Elena." He said, kissing her cheek. "Paris, this is Stefan Salvatore, my boyfriend. Stefan, this is Paris Forbes, Caroline's sister. She just moved back to town." Elena introduced us. "Nice to meet you." He smiled. "You too." I smiled back.
"Now to meet Damon." Elena said. "Are you sure about that? He's an ass." Stefan said. "She's bound to meet him sometime. Why not now?" Elena shrugged, pulling me to a different part of the bar, right next to Klaus. Well, damn. I was hoping to avoid him. "Damon." Elena said. "Yeah, Elena?" He asked, turning around. "Paris, meet Damon Salvatore, my boyfriend's brother. Damon, meet Paris Forbes, Caroline's sister." Elena said. Damon's eyes roamed my body. He smirked. "Pleasure to meet you." He said seductively. Elena looked pissed. "You too...?" I trailed off, uncomfortable and disgusted. He looked surprised at my reaction. What, did he expect me to fall madly in love with him or something? Idiot!
"I'm gonna go back to Caroline and Bonnie....." I said, walking away. Stupid perv! I sat back down at the booth, a scowl on my face. "Don't take anything Damon says seriously. He's a jackass." Caroline said. "I've noticed." I grumbled.
A blonde-ish haired boy walked up and asked if we needed anything. "Mattie?" I asked. "Yeah... Who...Paris!" He grinned, lifting me up in his arms. "Finally, someone recognizes me!" I exclaimed. "How could I forget you?" He asked, putting me down. "Should I be offended?" I asked. "I meant, how could I forget my best friend?" He rephrased his question. "Ok, good." I said, relieved.
"I gotta get back to work, but I'll see you later." Matt smiled. "You certainly will!" I agreed. He walked away, a goofy grin planted on his face. "Someone likes you." Bonnies teased. "He's my best friend, Bon. We don't feel like that about each other." I said. "Ok...." Bonnie said, not believing me.
"I'm serious!" I exclaimed. "Whatever you say."
