Cheshire's POV
I stood there like an idiot with my hand out for Cry to shake. He took it finally and shook it, but it was awkward. I made my way to the couch and sat down. He followed me. I could tell something was off with him, even if I have never met him, his body language suggested it. He plopped down on my couch and looked at me.
"What..." I hesitated, no one had ever looked at me like that before.
"You're not what I imagined" he said bluntly.
"What did you think I looked like" I was so curious, all my friends know what I look like except the ones on the internet so this was a cool opportunity.
"I dunno Chesh," he sighed using my nickname "like don't get me wrong you're a badass. But you don't look like a bad ass" he stated. Cry is the most blunt person I've ever met.
"Excuse me sir, you do not look as bad ass as you sound either" I blurted out.
"Oh I know. No one expects this nerd when they first see my videos" he stated.
"Why did you think I was a badass" I asked
"You rock at gaming, you hold your own in the stream. Things like that" he shrugged "I thought you'd be the kind of girl with a pink pixie cut" I laughed, I could never pull that off.
"Sorry you found the girl with braids half way down her back" I told him.
"I also found the girl with freckles" he smiled. This made me blush, no one ever studied my face well enough to compliment my freckles. I quickly put my hands on my cheeks to distract from the redness.
"Why did you come?" I quickly changed the subject.
"Oh..." He muttered "shit day" he looked away from me
"Why not Russ or Jund?" I asked, there was no logical reason for him to be here.
"I needed a clean slate, they're my best friends but sometimes it's nice to talk to someone who doesn't know anything about you" he said in a deep gravely voice, there was a sadness in his voice. That and tiredness.
"Tell me what's going on, I can tell it's more than a shit day" I shifted my body toward him to show that I want to help.
"I have a lot of thoughts, Chesh" he looked me in the eyes and I felt a surge of sadness, I knew exactly what he meant. I nodded.
"Me too" I offered.
"Are you sure you want to hear all this?" He asked sounding a bit dead inside.
"I do. I want to help"
The next few hours until the sun began to rise above the horizon were spent with Cry telling me about his sadness. I had no idea how badly he felt. He said it's not always but when he gets thinking he can't stop. That's why he needed to come over tonight because he got his thinking started and he needed out. I felt honored he came to me.
I yawned after Cry and I had been silent for a while. He yawned too. We were laying on my couch, my head was on one arm and his was on the other end, so we could still see each other.
"I gotta go to bed..." I mumbled and he began to get up.
"Alright" he yawned "I'll talk to you soon" he said a bit sadly. I bit my lip and finally blurted out,
"You can stay, you're too tired to go home now"
"Are you sure.." He looked at me
"Positive. This is a pull out couch" I said.
"Perfect." He smiled halfheartedly
We got his bed all ready and as I was about to tell him good night he grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug. I quickly hugged him back. He rested his chin on the top of my head, "thank you Cheshire" he whispered.
"Anytime" I whispered into his chest.
