Mid-Autumn Festival - part 3
Walking in the middle of the bustling city of Hangzhou, Lu Cang couldn't help but be reminded of how he used to walk with Jing in this kind of crowded street. ---Though Jing obviously disliked this kind of noise, for Lu Cang's sake, he would bear it to a certain extent.
"Xiao Cang, next year, let's go to Hangzhou for the festival." ---This line was said by Jing last year, before the incident.
How ironic. This year Lu Cang was indeed in Hangzhou, and by chance, Jing was also in Hangzhou. But both of them were not here to fulfill their promise, they were not to enjoy the festival together like they had promised. They were in Hangzhou as two strangers who didn't know each other. Like they had never met before.
Several days had passed since Zheng sent the news about Jing would be in Hangzhou.
In these several days, all the brothers were like playing hide and seek while they were walking in the city. They would cautiously look around before they walked down the path. Occasionally checked their surrounding before walking in the open. Lu Cang himself was walking down the city with his heart jumping in anticipation. Unconsciously, his longing heart secretly wished to catch a glimpse of that heavenly being. But to his disappointment, let alone caught a glimpse of his beautiful visage, even his shadow Lu Cang also couldn't see.
Tomorrow would be full moon night, the peak of the Mid-autumn Festival. Many people surely would gather around West Lake. And Jing might be on one of the luxurious boats on West Lake, enjoying the festival in his own refined style.
"Brother Lu. You have been ignoring me for a while now......"
Hearing the pouting Xie Yi Ming by his side saying this, Lu Cang all of a sudden was reminded that he was indeed walking in the city with Xie Yi Ming. Not alone at all. He threw an apologetic smile at Xie Yi Ming. Inwardly, he couldn't help but scold his own self for being such a melancholy fool whose mind was only occupied by Jing alone.
"What did you say just now?" As he asked him to repeat what he had said, Lu Cang awkwardly tried to peel off the coiled hands on his left arm. But it was to no avail, Xie Yi Ming was as if glued tightly to his arm. In the end, Lu Cang could only helplessly let him be.
"I said, I will introduce Brother Lu to my father. My father has been asking me about the person whom I visit every day. He is worried, afraid that I will mix with some bad people. That's why, in order to assure him, I will just let him know about this wonderful Brother Lu."
A wide grin was gracing his pretty face. He was unfazed by Lu Cang's shocked face. He was saying the truth after all.
Lately, his father had been pestering him about marriage. Granted, he had passed twenty just several months ago. Already at an appropriate age to get married. But Xie Yi Ming kept on dodging the matter in a thousand and one ways. At least, he was not the only heir of the Xie Family. He had two elder brothers who already got married and produced some grandchildren for their parents. And of course he wouldn't tell Lu Cang that he was about to introduce him to his father as his future life's partner. There was no way in hell Brother Lu would agree to come with him if he happened to know about this. And he was taking advantage of Brother Lu being absent-minded for these several days, dragging him to his house without his awareness.
"Xie Yi Ming. What exactly are you planning?" Living with Jing for many years, being subjected to his many mischiefs, more or less Lu Cang also could see that this Xie Yi Ming was clearly hiding something behind his sleeve. In a deep frown and narrowing his eyes to intimidate Xie Yi Ming, he firmly fixed his eyes on the grinning ear to ear face.
