As the ship flew off, Winter stood in the main room, looking out the large window in the front of it as her planet passed by. She sighed as it left sight and Freeza looked to her, glaring. "Alright, you."
"Winter."
"Right. You're mine now, so don't think you're going to be doing anything similar to what you did on your old planet. Go get yourself some armor and I will personally see if you are of any worth, even in your limited form." Winter looked confused but didn't say anything, she just left the room, now even more terrified to deny Freeza with her planet on the line. She walked through the rounded halls of the ship, looking through each doorway to try and get even the slightest idea of where she was supposed to go. The halls were cold and she passed by many troops as she walked, all of them different. She never spoke to any of them, they all looked like they had a job, and they were all blank faced, as if hey had no soul. After a while of walking and checking rooms, Winter came across a locker room of sorts, perfect. She walked inside and began opening anything that wasn't locked to try and find something. She saw many different armor chest plates, boots, pants, and sometimes even helmets, but as she tried them on they were all uncomfortable over her bio-armor. She just put them away and left the room, but as soon as she reached the doorway she jumped. It was the green man from before, Zarbon, standing there.
"Winter, Lord Freeza wishes to see you, follow me." Winter followed Zarbon down the hall, and soon they entered a rather large room where Freeza was standing, having expected them to arrive. Inside he room were many training materials, used to help soldiers learn tactics for battle. Zarbon left the room and Freeza approached Winter, his arms behind his back.
"Alright Winter, welcome to the training room, this is where you will prove to me that you are truly worth something." His expression changed to an amused smirk, "and remember, if you don't, you and your planet..." He pointed his finger to a training dummy in the corner of the room and a thin ki beam came from it, destroying it. Winter got shivers down her spine at this thought, if she failed, both she, and everyone on her planet, would die. She was frozen, she knew she had to do something but she had no idea what. All she could do was stand, holding in her fear. Freeza glared at her, "well?" Winter gulped and turned towards a training dummy, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She extended her arm, opened her hand, and shot out a ball of ki towards the dummy, destroying it as soon as it hit in a small explosion. She opened her eyes and looked to Freeza, who had his arms crossed and a satisfied smile on his face. "That's better than most of my troops do, congratulations Winter." Winter sighed in relief, her planet was safe, at least for now. Freeza looked at her again, a bit confused. "Winter? Where is your armor? I thought I told you to get some, are you already indulging in insubordination?" Winter shook her head,
"no Lord Freeza sir, it's just that my bio-armor is so thick that the armor was rather pointless." Freeza chuckled at this, seeming amused.
"Fine. But don't come crying when you get a hole in your chest." He left the room, leaving the door open behind him, leaving Winter alone. Winter just stood for a while, wondering what she was going to do and what she was even supposed to do. She sighed and left, deciding just to wander around until she got some form of orders. She passed by both open and closed doors, looking inside open ones for brief moments. Suddenly one room caught her attention, it was empty except for a large machine with controls in front of it, a glass front, and lots of tubes and wires connected to it. She couldn't imagine was this machine was for, but it seemed harmless enough. She heard a voice behind her and she jumped. Quickly, she around to see a woman, seemingly of the same alien race as Zarbon behind her, her face having no expression.
"That is the healing bay, if someone is seriously injured beyond normal means of repair but are still alive, they are placed inside that machine." Her voice sounded monotone and blank, as if her very soul was gone. Her hair, skin, and eye color were the same as Zarbon's, but her hair was in a wrap, causing the style of a very high ponytail, with two large streaks of hair hanging down on each side of her face that were also loosely wrapped up with the same golden ribbon. She wore the same armor as others, the only difference being that hers had two pieces that looked like the shoulder pads hanging at the bottom, laying against her hips. She wore a shirt with a collar almost completely covering her neck under the chestplate, and she wore white cloth on her arms and legs, starting at the middle and ending at the bottom. Winter turned her head as she looked at this woman, curious about her relation to Zarbon.
"Who are you?"
"I am Zira."
"You look a lot like-"
"Zarbon? I know. We came from the same planet before Freeza took us in."
"Oh, I see."
"You must be the new recruit I was told about, Winter, correct?" Winter nodded,
"yes, straight from the planet that was nearly stolen from me..." Zira chuckled a bit, shaking her head.
"Get used to that."
"What?"
"Freeza is yelling for control over the universe, and i'm afraid he won't stop until he gets it, even if it means completely destroying a planet." Winter went silent, unable to respond as thoughts began to rush through her head. She was just being used, this agreement would eventually be void, he'd have to come back to her planet eventually. "Winter?" Winter turned and left, not sure where to go but knowing she had to just leave. She soon found herself in an area where people would sleep, and sat down on a bed that looked untouched. She sighed, looking down at the floor, thoughts rushing through her head. She had left everyone, but it soon wouldn't matter at all, Freeza was a ruthless ruler, and he wouldn't stop until everything belonged to him.
