A/N: This fic can serve as a prologue of sorts for From Sasa, with Love + Life with Sasa, but it can also be looked at as a standalone story.

July 2013

The 2013 elections have concluded, and all the elected winners have taken their seats. Unfortunately for Risa, she wasn't part of that circle, and thus returned to her job as Citizen Risa.

But she still had some unfinished business to settle. One she's not even sure she's ever going to, considering the circumstances. So, she settled for the next best thing. She sat down, took her best stationery (in purple and yellow, of course - their favourite colors combined), and let the words flow from her pen.

Hi Leni,

How are you today? I hope you and your daughters are doing well.

Congratulations on your election as Representative ng district niyo sa CamSur. I have a big feeling you will win this very overwhelmingly, but actually seeing the numbers is such a great feeling.

As for me, nabigo na naman ako ulit. I would be lying if I said that it didn't hurt, but alas things were not meant to be. At least for now.

Uhh, I don't even know if you'll ever be able to read this, but I have a confession to make: mas na-hurt ako nung sinabi mo na sarado ung puso mo sa pag-ibig ng iba kaysa sa nung natalo ako bilang senador.

I feel so guilty for feeling that because I know it's not even a year since Jesse died, but the moment I first saw you during the campaign sortie sa Naga, I knew you were something special - Your charm so magnetic, even a woman like me has fallen head over heels and couldn't get up. Your smile so bright, mas malinaw pa sa sikat ng araw. Your personality so warm, it felt like an embrace every time we've crossed paths.

I don't know...I just hope and pray that one day, circumstances would be much more favorable for us. And that one day, you would open your heart and give a mortal like me a chance.

I may not be Jesse, but I assure you, I will give my all.

With love,

Sasa

As soon as Risa finished writing the letter, she folded the piece of paper and placed it in an envelope tucked inside a basket filled with many trinkets and campaign materials bearing Leni's name and photo, hoping that one day, opportunity strikes once more and Risa finds a closure to her many questions.
