Leni tossed and turned in her sleep in her first weekend back in Naga after being proclaimed as vice president of the land. Jillian remained sound asleep beside her, while Aika and Tricia stayed in the other bedroom.

This had always been their routine ever since she stepped into the world of elected office. Sometimes on her own, sometimes with her three daughters.

She should be used to it by now, but the pain and longing gnawing inside her got stronger by the hour. She craved for her touch. She longed for her sweet, honeyed voice saying sweet nothings to her ear. She wanted her.

Then she remembered that she would still probably be awake by this time, being a creature of the night to Leni's larkish tendencies. She texted her. "Mahal, miss na kita. Punta ka dito."

After what seemed like forever, she got a reply. "Kung makakalipad lang sana ako. Baka inunahan pa kita."

She should be happy, for she's in Naga, her domain, with her daughters by her side. Yet her heart ached for even one minute in Risa's arms.

Suddenly, she felt like a visitor in her own home.

Leni took a deep breath and prayed to center herself. She reminded herself that only one weekend here, and she'll go back to that place she called home for the past months. She clutched to that hope to get her through today, but even that hope slowly slipped away.

She needed her. It's been way too long a wait.

Leni browsed through her phone and listened to the recording of Risa singing that Basil Valdez song she sang into her ear quite a few times. Perhaps that would be enough to get her through today.

Or so Leni had hoped.

Just when she's about to head back to make an attempt of sleeping, her phone vibrated. She answered the call only to be greeted by Risa's voice on the line.

"Hi, Pangga."

Her heart skipped when she heard that familiar voice. "Hi, mahal. Miss na talaga kita. Alam mo ba yun?"

A hint of sadness crept into Risa's tone. "Ako rin eh. Kung may superpowers lang sana ako, eh di pumunta na ko diyan sa Naga."

Leni sighed. After a moment of silence, she continued. "Ma, kantahin mo nga ulit ung kanta ni Basil Valdez. Nakalimutan ko na ung title eh."

"Ah, ung nirecord ko sa phone mo?"

"Oo, yun."

Risa then started to sing the same song Leni kept listening to while they were apart.

It's your smile, Your face, your lips that I miss,
Those sweet little eyes that stare at me
And make me stay,
I'm with you through all the way...

Leni choked back the tears forming in her eyes, but they just came pouring out.

One more day, and she's going to hear that voice in person again. She's just going to have to wait just a bit more.
