I hadn't seen her in 3 years because of what she said at our family's 15th reunion. I haven't spoken to her since that day.

Everyone headed over to the main table to get food. Everyone was laughing and smiling, chatting to one another when I saw my sister storming towards me with an angry face. I knew exactly why she was coming.

" WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? " my sister shouted in my face. She was clearly angry, but she deserved it.

" Nothing but I do have a problem with you being in my face. Now will you excuse me, I would like to go to the kitchen and help ma bring the salads out." I said with a smile plastered on my face.

" You told mom that I cheated on my husband and we are getting a divorce." At this rate she was fuming. I swear smoke would be blowing out of her ears if she were a cartoon.

" Well it's true isn't it?" I had a smug grin on my face. Then I saw in the corner of my eye that everyone was paying attention to our argument.

"Just like you had a miscarriage and didn't bother to tell your ' amazing ' boyfriend or family." Now she had a smug grin on her face.

My blood was boiling and the moment she said that my mom stepped out of the house to hear something that she was not expecting to hear.

I quickly turned to my mom, " Mom I'm so sorry. I was going to tell you but I was embarrassed and ashamed because we weren't married yet ... And .... And ... Mom I'm just so-oo sorry." I started tearing up.

My mom had that disappointing look on her face that I've been dreading.

Mine and my mother's close relationship was all gone after that day. Sometimes I would visit her but not as often as I did before. I blame my sister but I mostly blame myself for what happened. I was the one carrying the baby and decided to hide it from my family because I knew that we would be shamed upon.

After I lost the baby, you didn't even try to comfort me. I thought that maybe that was why you started to behave differently around me but a few months after my miscarriage you were back to normal. That brought me great relief.

You would come home smiling from ear to ear only to find out now that it was because she brightened up your day. Was it fun though? Because it seemed like it. Disappearing in the middle of the night, making up excuses that I believed. (Chuckling) I was really gullible.

But tonight you got a surprise from me that you never would've expected....
