1985
"oh shit! why can't i get that one line?"
"corey, it's literally not that hard. it's just one sentence. come on do it again." frustration was taking over me.
he had asked if i could help him with his lines, of course i said yes.
"okay, okay.."
he got into character.
"maggie?"
"yeah?" i answered ,reading off the script.
"is your name margaret?"
"yes."
"margaret."
"yeah?"
"no, i'm just saying it."
"did you think we would be such good friends when we first met?"
"i don't know."
"what did you think of me?"
"i thought you were.. interesting." i didn't know how maggie was like. but i assumed she didn't like lucas, so that's exactly how i read her.
corey put the script down ,looked me right in the eyes and said,
"i thought you were beautiful."
i sat there looking at him until i realized that what he said was actually part of the script.
"see, you got it!" i smiled.
"yeah, well. it still feels weird."
"what does?"
"talking to a chick like that!"
is he serious.
"what are you talking about!? you talk to me like that all the time!"
"yeah but, you're actually my friend, i'm allowed to talk to you like that."
"oh yeah? says who?"
"me. that's who." he smiled.
i rolled my eyes playfully.
"okay, well then if you can talk to me like that, you can talk to her like that. who's playing maggie anyway?"
"not sure yet. i only know that i'm lucas." he laughed.
"god, that's so cool. i wish i got cast in that movie."
"why?"
"i don't know. sounds fun. plus i'd get to be with you."
"that's nothing, you're gonna actually star in your new movie. and it's only your second one. that's pretty impressive." he said.
