The Crimson's Promise

The Acquaintance

PRESENT DAY:

ULYANA'S POV:

" "Crimson dear. My love, would you like to go for a walk with me. To the gardens? It will be a pleasure. I hear that the flowers have bloomed . It is spring,ain't it? Once in a while you must relax dear. "

The Crimson smiled.

"Talon, let's go",was all that she would say.

They held hands and made their way out to the garden.
There was a magneficent fountain at the centre of the garden.  The garden itself was overflowing with beauty. There were roses, shrubs, lilies, jasmine etc etc.

They made their way to the fountain. They sat on the ledge such that only their legs dangled in the water.
They sat companiably. Hands across each others backs .

That was until, Talon bent down and pecked The Crimson on her lips.
The Crimson looked baffled.
That was the first time someone had done that.
She and Talon had become good friends over the past few months. She had never been able to pinpoint the exact kind of relationship they had. But she knew that it was definitely not friendship.

Did she want more than friendship? Can they be more than friends?Are they more than friends was a question that even she could not answer.

"Crimson, I know it is really weird but I have to tell you my lady, that I am deeply in love with you. I don't care if I am only a mortal. I don't care about your Immortal family. You tell me a YES and I will go and personally behead each of them!", Talon whispered at her earlobe.

She shivered.

Talon got up and wadded in to the water such that he was standing ahead of her.

He went down on his knee and held up a ring.
"May I? ",was all he asked.

The Crimson was tongue tied as Talon slid the ring up her finger. But that does not mean that she did not intend for this to happen. That she didn't want this to happen.

Talon then handed her a ring.
She took it from him and slid it up his ring finger.

She couldn't believe what she was doing.

But her hands seemed to have suddenly got a mind if their own!

"We are married now my Queen. The Earth style.......
I know there is a lot more to Earth weddings, and it is not all about the exchange of rings. But alas! Here in Igynomika we both can't have a proper wedding..... There are too many people who wish unhealthy for us.", he said grimly.

"The groom may now kiss the bride", was all the Crimson said.

Talon grinned an ear-splitting grin.
His lips met hers.
His hard and slightly cracked lips met her soft puckered ones with much enthusiasm.

The Crimson saw so much love in that small contact. So much care. So much affection. So much devotion.

Since childhood, it was a solitary life that she had lived. For 216 years , it was her and her alone in her life.

Her family members were never the considerate type. It was as though they despised her. They hated her alive. They hated her existence.

She had foiled many of their plans to kill her. To vanquish her. To get to her throne.
Being an orphan meant people try to take advantage of you.
