lauren's pov
After a few hours of resting, my eyes fluttered open at the sound of my heart monitor. I looked around at the four girls laying around me in the bland hospital room, I took a deep breath and pursed my lips. I feel really bad as I take a look at each of them carefully, before looking down at the sheets laid across the bottom half of my body. I'm still not sure to what happened to me for all of this to happen, for me to end up in this hospital room, but maybe the girls will tell me. But the way their faces looked when they heard that I couldn't remember them, shattered my heart.
It really killed me when I saw Camila slowly backing away from the bed before running out of the room like she found out I died or something. There was something in her eyes that showed much more than what I saw in the other girls' eyes. But I couldn't quite put my finger on it and it's bothering me. I let out a sigh before playing with the ends of the blanket as I looked back up, my breath caught in my throat when I saw a pair of brown eyes looking back at me.
"Jesus, Dinah, you scared me." I say in a soft voice before chuckling lowly, as she returns a soft smile. Sitting up and stretching before making soft smacking sounds with her lips, then yawning.
"Sorry, Laur. I was just thinking," She says in a sleepy voice as she begins to stand up from where she was laying and makes her way to where I was. She fixes her hair before taking a seat on the edge of the hospital bed. Her eyes meeting mine once again, this time they were a bit softer.
"What's on your mind?" I ask, her eyebrows furrow. Like she was surprised that I knew something was on her mind.
"You were always good at that you know? Knowing when something was on my mind and when I needed to talk, you always knew." She says, I smile gently at her comment as she began to continue. "I'm just scared of what's happening you know? I mean, you're kind of like the rock in this whole friendship and it sucks that this happened to you. You're the person we would all turn to if something were to ever happen..." She trails off, I could see the tears forming in her eyes. My heart was once again breaking and I reached over to take one of her hands in mine.
"I can see how hurt you are, all of you," I say softly, trying not to wake the others from their sleep. "And I'm sorry for whatever happened to me, causing this whole fiasco to happen, I'm really sorry. I can see how all of you care so much about me, and I can see the love in all of your eyes. It already hurts me to see all of you guys so heartbroken about this. I just want to get better for all of you, just for you guys." I finish off as I see a single tear fall from the taller girl's eye and roll down her cheek. Leaving a faint streak where it has fell. I slowly lean myself up to wipe the tear away, then lean back against the pillow letting out a deep breath from the slight pain I felt. But I didn't let it show, not right now.
"Thanks, Laur." She mumbles as she takes a deep breath, before taking a moment to recompose herself. After a few moments, her lips were replaced by a bright smile. I nod my head in reassurance, a smile also taking over my mouth.
"Anytime, Dinah."
"You know, I actually have to tell you something," She says as she glances over to the girl laying on the couch, Camila. I slightly tilt my head so I could look at her also before DInah's head turns back to me, I meet her gaze.
"What do you have to tell me?" I ask, furrowing my brows onto why she had to look at Camila.
"It's about the little Cuban on the couch," She says. Well, I was right. It was about Camila.
"What about Camila? Is she okay?" I ask with concern in my voice, Dinah broke out into a slight grin as she looked at me. Why is she doing that?
"Well, you see. Camila is fine, at the moment. And look, she didn't mean to run out on you earlier like that, she just cares deeply about you." Dinah says, as she wiggles her eyebrows. Is she suggesting something orrr.
"What do you mean?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. The younger girl let's out a deep breath with a roll of her eyes.
"She cares deeply for you. Like on a whole nother level, Laur." This time, she puts even more emphasis on her words which makes me even more confused, on a whole nother level.
"I have no clue what you're trying to tell me, Dinah," I say honestly, she rolls her eyes once again with a small smile as she shakes her head. Waving her hand in dismissal.
"You know what, it's okay. You'll get it soon enough, you were actually this oblivious when you actually had your memory so." She got up with a smile and left the room saying that she'll be right back because she's gonna get food. I furrowed my brows once again, trying to figure out what she means, but nothing seems to be registering in my head at the moment. I sigh softly as my gaze falls upon the smaller Cuban laying down.
"You know it's not polite to stare at people," I hear my heart monitor sky rockets as I put my hand to my chest, glancing over to the direction of Normani.
"Jesus, what is up with people scaring me today?" I say as she just laughs and shakes her head, standing up from where she was resting and walking over to the side of the hospital bed.
"You know, Dinah's right. Camila does care for you on a whole nother level, you'll just have to wait and see." Normani says before ruffling my hair and making her way to the door, "I'm gonna go follow Dinah, just to make sure she doesn't by the whole cafeteria." She says with a smile before walking out. I just roll my eyes with a smile as she does, taking a deep breath as I then take a look around the plain room, my eyes drifting off to the window as I take a look at the outside world behind the glass. I don't remember how it feels to be outside, but I sure want to get out of here.
A soft knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts, causing my attention to shift to directly in front of me. I see the doctor walking in with his signature clipboard and his too big of a smile. I also saw Ally and Camila begin to wake up from their rest as they both yawn, glancing over to the doctor's direction.
"I have some news for you, Ms.Jauregui," he says as he takes a look down at his clipboard. Well this has to be good.
