Chapter One
Here we go. Another day of school. I always hated Mondays. It just meant a long week for me. Niall always started my week to a bad start, with all the name calling. I hit the Alarm button and lifted that duvet from atop of me. Swinging my legs around, I place my feet on the cold hardwood floor. I make my way to my bathroom door, turning on the hot shower. Steam started to cover my bathroom mirror, my image slowly fading away. I peeled of my pj’s and stepped into the shower, quickly washing my hair and body. After 10 minutes I turn the water off and step out into the cold air. I wrap a fluffy towel around my body and make my way over to my wardrobe. Picking out skinny jeans and a blue flowwy top, I drop them onto my bed. I blow dried my hair, giving it a more volumized look. I then slipped on my clothing and made my way to my personal kitchen. Picking out my favorite cereal, pouring the milk and retrieving the spoon, I start to dig in.
My phone beeped and a notification from my dad popped up.
D: After school, come to Niall’s house. I have something to discuss with you and Niall.
Uh-oh. Did he know the Niall bullied me? My dad didn’t know I had a rough time at school.
B: Okie Dokie, be there as soon as I can.
I quickly put everything up and make my way to the door, turning around to make sure I have everything. Phone? Check. Bag? Check. Car keys? Check. With a quick nod I made my way towards my car. My car was just a simple blue Toyota Yuris, nothing special. I opened the driver door and slipped in, throwing my bag onto the passenger seat. I pull out of my drive way and I head towards the North side of Ports, to the high school. Ports High School only has 1,000 students in all 4 grades, combined. It may be small, but it is the biggest school I have been too.
After 10 minutes of turning left and right, I finally reach my destination, school. In front of this school, there were multiple groups of people. The geeks, the jocks, the norms, the newbie’s, the freshmen’s, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Then there’s my group, which only consist of Sky and me. The nobodies. Sky usually met me on the bench in front of the garden. I parked, grabbed my stuff, and made my way over to the garden bench. I ignored all the rude comments and continued my walk.
“Where do you think you’re going, Matthews?” Niall’s voice rang through the air. I winced and turned around. “Just to see Sky. Why?” I replied, continuing back onto my quest. I could hear his sneakers hit against the sidewalk; he was following me. I stopped in my tracks and turned around. “Can you stop following please?” I shot at him.
“Naah, I think it would be funny to see what you two talk about”. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. “Fine” I mumbled and, once again, continued back to Sky. I finally reached her.
“Hey Sky. What’s up?” I ask her, sitting down next to her. Niall stayed back a few steps watching us from behind is aviator sunglasses. Sky looked up and smiled at me.
“Hey Brae, nothing really, just on instagram.” She responded. I gave her a curt nod before looking back at where Niall was. He was gone.
“What’s wrong Hun?” Sky asked me. I looked back at her a shook my head. “Nothing”. The bell sounded signaling that class will be starting soon. Sky and I walked to our lockers, ours right beside each other. I grabbed my Science textbook, Sky grabbing her History textbook. We both said our byes and walked the opposite way towards our first period class.
I walk in to Science and sit in my assigned seat, third row sixth seat right by the windows. I pull out my notebook and pencil and start the morning work. Soon, everyone starts to fill in the empty seats.
